Railway passengers be more careful about food and drinks from fellow passengers in the early part of your journey. Firstly do not make friendship quickly. Do not accept any eatables from your fellow passenger at any cost ( refuse politely) and do not offer your food or drinks to any other. This is a normal practice. Take extra care of your valuable equipment. Do not blame railway minister..!

    Mr Rakesh,
In a similar fashion my brother was looted in the train by a stranger who offered his sweets, It was years back when UPA govt was not in power . . Whom do you blame ???? Guess UPA Right ??? you need to be widen up your thinking and understand before commenting . . .
The con men needs to be tracked by the Railway police force and must be punished according to the law (And not in accordance with BJP,UPA or whatever feels)

This is not the first time, such icidents occur. The only solution is being alert and act wise. 1. Avoid taking things from strangers, it may a piece of choc, tea or even water juice etc. 2.Avoid chatting too much to others, remember others are watching you, especially the persons who are planning to robe. 3. Do not disclose your personal details to strangers, which may put us into trouble. 4. When going to Washroom, do inform your wife or husband or if possible take somebody with you. 5. Kids shouldnt be left un attended and do not allow/ permit them to mingal or talk friendly with co - passengers( which is not possible many times, as kids dont listen to us, but but..we should try and avoid such situations. 6. also remember not to disclose the purpose why are you travelling...from this the other person will get an idea about what things we might be carrying with us, which may inturn tempt him or her to attack us. 7. Behave normal and simple , dont showoff with your cash in purse, latest mobiles and laptops...keep the safe custody with you...you can check your mails after reaching home. 8. Always keep an eye on ur co-passengers, they may act normal with you, but who knows.

Hey nothing to worry...lets be carefull and take care of ourselves, our family and our children.
Wishing All my Dear Friends a Happy AND Safe Journey :)

There is a big Mafia group in Konkan Railway which target innocent people and rob them.Definitely it is not the work of Local Mafia. Some group from UP,Bihar,Bengal are operating here.Especially illegal Bangladeshis who have Ration card,Pan card, smart cards,ATM cards..and they have documents to prove that they are from W.Bengal !
People should be careful and don't blame Government.Because they are worse than these thugs..

Railways department should educate travellers by showing a documentary film about the safety of their belongings so that everyone should be aware of the situation before boarding the trains. It is wise to show a short 5 minute film at each and every train stations it might help people to alert and vigilant at all times.

I agree with Rakesh Shetty. It is the responsibility of the Govt/Railway department to look after the safety of the travellers.

A passenger pays for her/his journey and who ever accepts the payment is responsible to see the journey of the passenger is comfortable and safe, using reasonable safety measures.

It is not only the con men against whom the passengers have to be alert, but more so from the security personnel as well, who travel in the trains, and harass the passengers for money.

The Govt/Railways certainly have to do much more for the comfort of the passengers

    Mr. Rakesh Shetty,
Evry common person knows when travelling anything offered by a stranger should not be accepted. We even teach the small children about this and thus in this case the Robber does not belong to any political party. And Kishore should think ten times before accepting the chocolate and even he had accepted he should not have eaten. He's not a 3 year old kid to tell all this.
Mr. Rakesh shetty your comments are nonsense and meaningless like you.

Least best what railways can do is, frequent announcements of warnings to travelers about the possible incidents inside the train.

Going by Rakesh Shetty's perspective, isn't BJP the reason for the bed bugs on KSRTC/Rajahansa buses ? And, for all the thefts that are taking place in Mangalore too ?

Granted, that the trains were manufactured by UPA, the driver, robbers were the product of UPA, was the chocolate also made by UPA Rakesh Shetty ?

Severe Punishment is the only SOLUTION. But our law is very flexible. Need Witness, Lawyer want more money. Police need big bribe to Register a case. There is no end, only public must take care cannot expect any help form any one. Railway security must be specially trained. There must be more security arangemens like CCTV-cameras. This happens almost every week in this train, untill now no action is taken !!!!!!!!!,great
