Mangalore, Jun 19: The Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) on Tuesday June 19 demolished a wall on a private property for blocking a drain and causing the rainwater to overflow in Adyar, Kannur.

Rainwater had begun to overflow in the area due to blocking of drains following two separate construction works. Kanchana Automotives had started building its outlet in the area, and so also a certain Gopalkrishna on his private property.

Both parties had built walls blocking off the drain, hence affecting the flow of rainwater. When highway overflowed, MCC officials arrived to inspect the area, and found that construction work by Kanchana Automotives and Gopalkrisha was the cause.

The officials asked Kanchana Automotives to make way for the drain, and the firm agreed at once. However, Gopalkrishna objected and refused to obey orders.

Seeing that he would not heed to their request, the MCC officials went ahead with the task of demolishing the compound wall of Gopalkrishna's property.

Speaking to Daijiworld, MCC joint commissioner Srikanth Rao said that Gopalkrishna has laid foundation stones in his property to construct a building without seeking permission or valid licence from the MCC. "Strict action will be taken against Gopalkrishna," he added.

Corporator Sudhir Shetty was present.

    People,

For semi-literate and his followers who consider CM Ibrahim as pure politician,,, there is no "treatment" available unfortunately.

Here Kanchan Motors and Gopalakrishna are both wrong,,, just because Gopalakrishna is worser than Kanachan,,, it does not make Kanchan any better.

I am sure there are many professional lawyers/advocates who read these comments. Can anyone of them please educate me whether it is necessary to get MCC permission to demarcate the boundaries of our ancestoral property by building a foundation and putting up barbed/ razor wire along the boundary to prevent encroachment. Our family has lost a lot of land to squatters and to the next door neighbour who has come into our property by more than 9 mtrs with a garden and a car parking bay.
It is most frustrating as I spent my last vacation chasing this but to no avail. I was told to get an approved/ qualified engineer to apply to the MCC with sketches- measurements, etc (cost was told to me would be A$3400)and when approval comes then only an approved contractor can do the job.
This is daylight robbery to protect our owned private property. Please give your valued comments as I think I am being made a sucker from far away. Thanks

Its easy for us to comment that MCC is doing a great job. But think if its the same thing that happens to us, how would our reaction be!! Its not the question of Congress or BJP here. Poor people owning the property cannot even have boundaries to their property!! Thats great job from MCC!!!

ANOTHER SAD INCIDENT AND NEGLIGENCE BY MCC.

WHO KNOWS THE REAL FACT BEHIND THIS. LET THEM INVESTIGATE. THERE ARE 2 MAIN REASON HERE.

    1. MCC DEMANDED FOR HAFTA HERE.

    2. MONEY CLAIMINING CENTRE RAID AS USUAL HERE ALSO BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T GET ANY HAFTA FROM THIS POOR PEOPLE.

Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) is doing a very good job in many ways and it is a boost for the people of Mangalore. Keep it up MCC and you have every support from the honest citizens. There are so many illegal activities going on since so many years and the hard working tax payers have been suffering. I am sure that there must be many illegal constructions going on and MCC should take action as soon as possible and save the city from more corruption.

I am seeing quick actions from MCC after Madam Gulazar's elevation as Mayor of Manglore. One thing is clear there is no political interference(Mayor)for the DUTY of the MCC officials.

On the other hand, CONman from USA finding fault with Congress irrespective of good work by CONGRESS Mayor. This shows his Congresspobhia in his dream also.Grow up man, don't to be like Fake Nityanada's disciples who are arguing with out self respect.

I have had a similar experience with these MCC fellows. In my property which is abutting a road, am I not allowed to build a boundary wall foundation to prevent illegal encroachment. There is no rule anywhere which says that I cannot demarcate the boundaries of my property but these MCC fellows (for a few bucks) will come with their bulldozers with policemen in tow & just demolish.A neighbour got a STAY ORDER against the MCC for his boundary foundation so you know what they did- they got MUDA to come and do their dirty work ( (MUDA has no powers to demolish anything on private property).
    Such is our MANGALURU.

Recent activity from MCC is little too much looks like. They are trying to show their ego that they can do many things. Recently even the pani puri stal for example they gave a reason that someone has published in the paper that money has been given to MCC and so they trashed all the panipuri stalls. Even in the above it might be the false news 'Gopalkrishna has laid foundation stones in his property to construct a building without seeking permission or valid licence from the MCC' Not sure though, but looks like. If there was no license initially itself they could have demolished instead of requesting I believe.

    Dear Rakesh Shetty,

Regardless whether you support this action from MCC or not, UPA has got nothing to do with this and the property doesn't belong to Sonia Gandhi.

    Thank you
