Dubai: Little Flowers Mukamar Announces Award for Best Regional Association

Dubai, Jun 27: Little Flowers of Dubai, the dedicated parish association of St Theresa of the Child Jesus Church of Mukamar has invited applications for ‘Saadhan Puroskar’.
Catholic parish associations based in UAE with a service of minimum 5 years are eligible for the award.

The award will be presented to the deserving association after assessment by independent judges. The service rendered by parish associations in various fields will be taken into consideration. The winner will be honoured in Dubai during Little Flowers Mukamar’s second anniversary on September 28 at India Club, Oud Metha Road, Dubai.

In a media release, president of the Little Flowers Mukamar association explained the reason behind this unique attempt and said that the idea of presenting the award is to identify the service of and honour the association as the last decade witnessed the commencement of several parish associations in Dubai. These associations have been extending great service to their parish, society, Konkani language and culture with their best possible ability and resources. Hence, it is time to honour their contribution to the community development.

Little Flowers of Mukamar has taken giant steps in serving their parish and the society with their brief history in the last two years. It received exceptional appreciation when it honoured the longest serving Catholic domestic helper with ‘Kutmaa Saangaathi’ Puroskor (Domestic caretaker' award) during their first anniversary in 2011. Little Flowers of Mukamar has requested the UAE-based Catholic parish associations to submit their historical profile based on following prerequisites:

- UAE-based Mangalorean single and individual Catholic parish associations are eligible to submit their profiles.
- The association dedicated to a single parish with a minimum of five years of service in UAE is qualified to be the contender.

- The profiles should include their clearly recorded service in various fields:

• Date of inception
• A sentence or two stating objectives of association (mission and vision)
• Aid and service to the Church in home country
• Support rendered to enrich Konkani language, literature and culture
• Social work based on improving quality of life, education and well being of individuals, groups and community
• Contribution in eradicating social injustice and violation of human rights
• Overall charity work for the needy
• An account of social work outside the boundaries of our language, religion, state or nation
• Sports and Games
• Any other work

- Name, Email and Mobile numbers of association’s representative for 'Saadhan Puroskar’
- Profile details should be submitted with recorded service in brief from the date of inception.
- The form can be filled either in English or Konkani.
- The decision of the judges is final and binding.
- Last date for profile submission: August 31, 2012
