Mangalore, Jun 28:
Director general of police Lal Rukhama Pachao paid his maiden visit to the city to familiarize himself with the department officers on Thursday June 28.

He also visited Anti Naxal Force head in Karkala, coastal security police officials and interacted with them.

Addressing a press conference at police commissioner’s office here, he said that the police department has been registering cases of cognizable offences in DK district without failure.

"The police force in the region is well-established with the setting up of the commisionerate, Western Range, coastal security police and the Anti-Naxal Force. Addition of scientific materials and weapons is another attainment in the police system," he said.

ADGP (crime) A M Prasad who was also present said that in the past 10 years the police force had organizationally grown in Mangalore. "Establishment of Anti-Naxal Force was another major step we took. After the Mumbai attack the police force has been strengthened along the coastline," he said, adding that a major breakthrough in tackling terror was achieved in Mangalore, when four Indian Mujahideen men were arrested in the year 2008.

He said that the Sakala scheme had helped in bringing more transparency in policing. "Earlier, petition disposal time was 21 days but now it has come down to 7 days. We have also taken appropriate measures to prevent human rights violation" he said.

IGP (western range) Pratap Reddy said that efforts are on to coax Naxalites into surrendering. To a query on Kaiga incident wherein the complaint was filed on the radioactive contamination of drinking water at the atomic power plant, he said that technical assistance had been sought by the police and investigations were on.

Police commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh, SP Abhishek Goyal, ANF chief Alok Kumar were present at the press meet.

This pictures show great professionalism and feel proud to have such a police force. Question arises when BJP lead goons take control on the street. It seems either police have no control on day today affairs or police are not service minded but extension of particular political parties.
Rise of murders, thefts , daily accidents and lot of other irregularities clearly shows opportunity to work hard for police and tax payers sweet and blood is justified.
