Udupi: District Journalists' Forum to Felicitate A S N Hebbar

Udupi, Jun 30: “The district unit of Bangalore-based Journalists' Forum will felicitate A S N Hebbar, senior journalist, social activist and Kundapur city lawyer, during the fifth Press Day celebrations here on Saturday June 30,” said district president Shekar Ajekar.

The Press Day was organized under the joint aegis of Patrakartara Vedike , www.kundapra.com , and Shree School of Journalism, Moodbidri.

Kannada Sahitya Parishat district president Nilavar Surendra Adiga, Spoorthidhama promoter Keshav Koteshwar, www.kundapra.com chief Sunil Byndoor, and MGM College head of department of journalism Borgalgudde Manjunath will be the chief guest on the occasion.

Ambatanaya Mudrady, Vidwan B Chandrayya, Umesh Rao Yekkar and Ku Go have been honoured in the past by district unit of Patrakartara Vedike .

A S N Hebbar is a veteran journalist with over five decades of experience in his profession. He has worked with Kannada dailies ‘Udayavani’ and ‘Prajavani’ as well as English daily ‘Deccan Herald’ during his long career in the press media. Despite his retirement, he has been actively engaged in promoting Yakshagana, social service, and theater. He served as chairman of seventh district Kannada Sahitya Sammelan, founder president of Kundapur JCI, Rotary Club, and founder secretary of Dakshina Kannada District Bar Association.
