Mangalore: Mandd Sobhann's Monthly Theatre Pays Fitting Tribute to Poets, Writers

Mangalore, Jul 1: 'Goem Gaita', a musical concert by Goan troupe 'Naad Brahma' was staged at Kalaangann here on Sunday July 1 as part of Mandd Sobhann's 127th monthly theatre.
 
The concert was sponsored by NRI entrepreneur Ronald Colaco, who also released '27 Kavita', a book by Steven Quadras Permude, on the occasion.

The concert was a tribute to Konkani writers and poets.

On the occasion, it was announced that Ronald Colaco would be sponsoring six more monthly theatres in the coming days. The crowd broke into loud applause in appreciation of the generous gesture.

It was also announced that Konkani Jagotik Songhottan (Global Konkani Organization) in association with Konkani Sahitya Akademi will be hosting 'Vishwa Konkani Manyata Divas' on August 20. Several competitions will be held on the occasion for people of all age groups, including children, and those wishing to participate should send in their entries by August18.

The 'Naad Brahma' team comprising senior artsistes Dr Ananth Hede, Premananda Veluskar, Madhumita Mahatme, Dilip Naik, Dr Bikhaji Ganekar and others entertained the crowd for two hours.

Chandrika Padgaonkar compered the event.

Mandd Sobhann Gurkar Eric Ozario, president Stany Alvares, Louis Pinto, Roy Castelino and others were present.
