Kasargod: Unique Bus Campaign Promotes Gandhi's Message of Peace

Kasargod: Jul 2: The inter-state Gandhi Peace Bus that commenced from Kanyakumari reached Kasargod on Sunday July 1 to a grand welcome.

The colourful bus, part of a unique campaign to spread universal message of peace, arrived at Manjeshwar on July 2.

The venture was lauched jointly by Kerala Gandhi Smaraka Nidhi in association with Nehru Youth Centre, National Foundation for communal harmony, as with an aim to pay tribute to the world’s most revered icon of peace, Mahatma Gandhi.

Earlier in Kasargod, a programme was organized in Kasargod Government College, inaugurated by SP S Surendranath.

Speaking on the occasion, Surendranath said the main reason behind the Gandhi Peace Bus is to spread peace across the country and to honour Mahatma Gandhi.

Moosa B Cherkal, Kasargod Block panchayat vice-president was the chief guest.

Dr Radhakrishna N, (Gandhi peace bus organizer), K Abdul Rehman, A Shrinath Kasargod, Madhavan Nambiar, Karunakaran among others were present.

The Gandhi Peace bus displayed video clips and books on Gandhi’s life.

    Look what have you done old man. Gandhi or no Gandhi, British were better than our own home bred goondas who have looted India thousands of times more than the British in just 65 years putting the British to shame.

    This bus should run during BANDH time as a passenger bus..lets see how many of will maintain peace??
