Udupi: Home-alone Elderly Woman Murdered for Gold

Udupi, Jul 3: An aged lady was found murdered in her residence at Ammunje, Kolalgiri here on Tuesday July 3.

The deceased has been identified as 75-year-old Radhu Karkera.

It is said that Radhu was murdered for her gold. She had been living alone for the past four or five years.

The murder is suspected to be the handiwork of known persons.

Out of five children, three of her sons are residing in Mumbai, and another son is in Ammunje in another house. Her daughter is married.

The murderers stole gold chains, bangles and other ornaments after murdering Radhu.

Brahmavar police arrived at the spot and are investigating.

    Old aged parents chose to live alone to escape torture and mental harrassment from their sons and daughter in laws...so that at least they shall have some peace at the end of the day....leaving aged parents alone and insecure makes them soft targets for killers and burglars.. Ungrateful children are indirectly responsible for the murder of their mother. Killers could have taken away her gold sparing her life... No doubt we have lost all ethics and do not the meaning of life..... God will surely punish the culprits. May her soul rest in peace...

    Mother is the True God on Earth .Whoever serves Mother in Old age truly gets every good things.Every happiness in Life .I really pity for those 5 Children who have Golden opportunity of serving the real God on this earth .Famous enterpreuner,Builder Dayanand Pai was asked once asked what is the secret of success ?     Very sad to hear old lady was murdered for the sake of gold. what is the use of giving birth to children who do not take care of them in their old age. Does children think that they dont become old. Today is that lady's day, tomorrow may be our day worst than that.I request all the parents in this world pls do not keep any treasure for the children, rather give to some orphanage and live there peacefull rest of your life.

    Killing 75 year old lady who was staying alone ? These people are not human beings they are beast. Such a heinous act no one can tolerate in our society.If caught they should be shown properly the consequences of such acts.

    Lot of north people (specially from BIHAR)are in mangalore working as a watch man & they understand the arround situation & slowly they invite their own friends & do robery.Also parrents must learn the asset they have they must sell off & join home for the aged instead keeping for uncaring children. It is really waste keeping things to children.
    There are several incidents in mangalore like this. All must engage building security not from north, i insist them to apoint local person with some good fecilities & salory. Also it is advisable to install C.C.camera in most of the buildings & houses & it may make easy to catch culprict. What a sad incident.

    This is due advancement in living standards of modern children.Nobody likes/wishes to live with parents/take parents with them.No.of such cases are on rise in these days.Rocking gold price is the main inducement.No concern for human life nor nor humanity.
