Udupi: Impromptu Bull Fight on Road Amuses, Scares People

Udupi, Jul 3: Passersby and commuters near North School here had an amusing half-an-hour on Monday July 2, as two bulls locked horns in the middle of the road for no apparent reason.

Even as people watched, the bulls fought ferociously, even getting gravely injured in the process. They also pushed three bikes parked nearby, causing them minor damage.

Luckily, no one was hurt in the incident.

While it was an entertaining sight for those watching from a distance, many who were close by, like commuters, pedestrians and others, panicked. Traffic was stalled for sometime.

For some time, efforts to break up the fight and chase away the bulls did not yield any result. The people tried everything they could, including throwing water in buckets, but to no avail.

Finally, gushing water from a pump in a nearby building was aimed at the bulls, which chased away the bulls in different directions and ended the half-hour of amusement.
