Mangalore, Jul 5:
Vittal Malekudiya, a student of Mangalore University who was arrested in March for his alleged links with Naxals, was released from the district jail here on Thursday July 5 at around 10 am.

After bail was granted to him by the judicial magistrate first class court at Beltangady on July 3, a copy of the bail was placed before the jailor on Wednesday July 4, and both Vittal and his father Linganna Malekudiya were released on conditional bail on Thursday.

His supporters were present in large numbers outside the jail to receive him. As soon as Vittal and his father came out they chanted 'Inquilab Zindabad'. They also shouted slogans against the police department and the Anti-Naxal Force for making false allegations.

The supporters included leaders and activists of DYFI, CPI (M), SFI.

Speaking on the occasion Munir Katipalla of DYFI demanded the dissolution of the Anti-Naxal Force (ANF) and said that Vittal's release was a victory for their lawful fight for justice. "The state government and the police failed to move the chargesheet before the court after accusing him of having links with Naxal. We hope that Vittal is released for good and allegations against him would be proved false," he said.

Katipalla lambasted the proposed Kudremukh tiger reserve project of the government and said that they will continue to fight against the torture and eviction of Malekudiyas in the region. He termed the fight for Vittal’s release a symbolic one and pledged to continue their protest against the torture of ANF and police department.

Leaders Vasanth Achari, Eric Ozario among others were present.

Why do politicians get all benefits even when 99% guilty , convicted within few days they are out of prison ,they get freedom from our judicial system which is lopsidical .The govt frames laws which benefits the poor but it never reaches them as they are pocketed by the politicos and babus. The politicians of all parties promise a lot under or over their skin for the people according to the law when they swear in . but forget their duties after a few years after they get taste of illegal wealth.

When there is no justice or benefits or any legal laws comming from both judiciary or the govt ,The locals and citizens fight against the system legally and later on through other means like strike or violence Within a few days you become a NAXAL or a TRAITOR as recomended by the State or Central Govt . WHO IS THE CULPRIT........

Victory to democracy and victory to justice.Muneer Katipalla,CPM activist, DK, along with his political boss from state to Centre,Rajesh, Member of parliament Edukki,Kerala,Praksh Karat,General Secrtary CPIM India,Vrinda Karat,PB member CPIM Central committee and their team fought pitched battle in and out of the parliament which made this possible.

Vittala Malekudia, only PG student in journalism from entire Malekudia community in Karnataka, unfortunately, crowned as Naxal sympathizer and lodged in jail along with his father by Karnataka Police and particularly present Govt.GOVT VIRTUALLY PUSHING PEOPLE LIKE V.MALEKUDIA FOR NAXALISM!!!Why not VM chargesheeted after 90 days?Because there is no enough martial with police to charge him!!!All who helped V.Malekudia and his family to be appreciated when our own Mangalorean law makers and politicians conveniently mum about the issue.

The moment one is arrested we jump the gun and that he is a criminal. The moment he ie released - even on bail- he becomes a hero.
Let the law enforcing agencies have their own way.
Sympathising with Naxalism is more dangerous than sympathising with Kashmir militants as the Naxalism is more wide spread. And does any one know what exactly Naxalites' demands are?
