Finally, Advani's Green Signal to Jagadish Shettar

Bhaskar Achar
Daijiworld Media Network - New Delhi

New Delhi, Jul 6: The only hurdle for Jagadish Shettar to ascend the ambitious chief ministerial chair of Karnataka has been finally cleared, with BJP top brass Lal Krishna Advani, who was opposing the installation of new chief minister in Karnataka finaly giving the nod. Advani, who had earlier preferred fresh mandate to change in CM, has reportedly agreed to install Jagadish Shettar as the new chief minister in Karnataka.

With this, now all top leaders in Delhi have agreed to bring D V Sadananda Gowda down, and Lingayat leader Jagadish Shettar is expected to be sworn in as chief minister of Karnataka on July 10.

On Thursday night, Gadkari had about an hour-long meeting with Advani, and reportedly convinced him on changing the leadership in Karnataka. Advani has asked leaders to unite in Karnataka and heal the damaged image of the party. Extensive damage control measures will be required in Karnataka to bring back voters in favour of BJP in the next state assembly election which is due in 2013 April.

Thereafter, Gadkari also obtained the approval of Sushma Swaraj, leader of opposition in New Delhi. Arun Jaitley has been instrumental in bringing a 'workable' solution in Karnataka. According to the new formula, D V Sadananda Gowda will be the state BJP chief, and K S Eshwarappa will be sworn in as deputy CM to Jagadish Shettar.

On Thursday evening, DVS supporter Jarkiholi also held detailed meeting with Gadkari and discussed the current political crisis in the state. Jarkiholi also agreed to the new formula, and assured his support to the new CM in order to bring BJP back to power in the next election. He has reportedly got an assurance that his key supporters would get cabinet berths in the Shettar ministry.

Gadkari has also assured all party members that this is not a 'victory' or 'defeat' to any faction, but an acceptable solution for the current crisis.

A Victory of 'Electoral Politics' :

Political pundits in the state are of the opinion that the morale of the state BJP is down, and that the current solution is only a 'victory of electoral politics'. Indirectly, it is a clear victory for B S Yeddyurappa who has been blackmailing the state government and the central BJP leadership ever since his fallout with D V Sadananda Gowda. Advani had clearly indicated that he wanted to keep Yeddyurappa away from BJP following allegations of corruption against him. But the strong backing of the Lingayat community in the state made sure the BJP high command could not dare to touch him.

Sadananda Gowda, a disciplined soldier of the BJP, has politely agreed to step down in the interest of his party, despite the fact that it was not his fault.

However, some political experts opine that if corruption was the reason for Yeddyurappa's ouster as CM, 'No-corruption' has been the reason for Sadananda Gowda's fall. Gowda neither indulged in corruption nor allowed any of his ministers to do so.

Sadananda Gowda will go down as one of the most upright, clean and polite CMs in Karnataka's history. But whatever patch-up the BJP may plan, the Vokkaligas in the state will in likelihood go against the BJP in the next election.

BJP is playing dirty politics in the state as well as in the center. They are not bothered of people because of whom they are enjoying the power. BJP leaders openly giving statements in media, that people are fed up of their act and behavior and they still continue the same. Shame on them and also shame on the people who support them. I'm not a BJP supporter, but DVS was doing something good even in the critical time. There is no reason he should be stepped down from CM position, that too with only 9 months left for general elections. BSY just want to enjoy the supreme power in the state through his ministers. He is acting like a dictator which is not acceptable in India. Compare the statements given by BSY and DVS in the public media. Whom do you think is acting without favoritism and selfishness? We have seen BSY crying always while making statement with negative notes. Analyze the statement given by DVS. You may even not get a single word out of which you can create a issue. And one more think, he does not change his statements time to time like other leaders.
Now, people should wake up and teach lesson for those who play with the money, and feelings of others. We have seen so much drama in past 4 years from BJP, and now it's high time to teach them a lesson. Hope to see some good results in coming elections.

What necessity was there to bring down DVS from Delhi to Karnataka as CM only for few months? That time only high command would have given the position to Yeddys' Chelaas in Karnataka. What is high command??? BJP is trying to come to an end in Karnataka may be! Really it is a v.bad decision made by Advani. DVS Sir, Pl. come out from this dirty politics and work as a independent man. These leaders dont want the welfare of Karnataka but only the power to make money. This shows that there is no place to honest & efficient people. Shame to BJP High Commnd.

He would have had one more year to come out of his Corruptional allegations too. Perhaps BJP would have still nominated him as cm in next elections despite his corruptional allegations. It looks like Yeddy has jeoopardised his own future. His followers now could switch to Shettar who is also a Lingayath leader. ೧.

A great miscalculation by Advani. For sure this will backfire against BJP. Sadananda Gowda is more acceptable than Yeddy's Shettar. Advani went against Kannadigas.

Congress will wipe out in forthcoming election due to their corruption and pseduo secularism. If i take blessing of Pejavara swami i am communal and if i take Bishop or Mulla blessing i am great secular. I blame congress to spread unrest nook and corner of india.

Now a days gradually L.K.Advani becoming irrelevant in BJP party itself. If Advani/Sushma not consents means, they are the looser and may sidelined in future.
BJP grass root workers were hurt by this decision and the understanding just 'ANACIN CAPUSLE.(Temp solution)
Hurting one community and appeasing another community means there is a deeper repercussions in days ahead.
One important development is Jagadish Shettar, who's back round was from RSS,blackmailed party by resigning to ministry!!!!This shows how Shettar was pacified and before entry to BSY camp that 'if switched over,CM post is reality'.....What a turnaround by RSS based politician!!!Is RSS teaching like such 'Saidanthika principle'?A question Shettar has to ans/ convince his voters.Apart from that who knows tomorrow BSY once more ask H.Command to replace Shetter if he (shettar)not yield to BSY?

Its very unfair decision from the BJP high command that DVS to be replaced for Shettar. DVS was respected by people of all sections with his good gesture and work. He is not tagged with any scandals or corruption unlike most BJP leaders do have. If so then, BJP high command should clearly explain to people what reason made them to change DVS from the CM chair? It seems there is no place for right people in BJP. It needs corrupted, communal, scandal leadership.

I am 100% sure that those who are praising DVS in this forum have not voted for BJP. And for your information Vokkaligas are not Traditional Voters of BJP such as Lingayats and GSBs. Hence nothing to worry. By hook or cook these commentaters in this forum want to bring rift between Lingayats VS Vokkaligas. You will not succeed in this. Under the able leadership of BSY we will come to power in 2013 also

Even the top BJP honchos have fallen to the "BLACKMAIL" of BSY. He is a blackmailer. There is no other way anyone call him. Blackmailing is one of the lowest one can get to - to achieve or get something one wants.
Those here praising BSY here or anywhere are partners in that blackmail. Hence they too of the lowest category.
It is not at all a victory to BSY or his followers. It has only shown them in very poor light. If Kannadigas do not realise this and vote BJP once again to power - they are the one responsible for what is going to happen in the next five years!! let all religion Gods save Karnataka.

Mr.DVS is going to give chair to Mr.JS whom again Mr.Yeddy is supporting.....tomorrow Mr.JS by getting inspiration from Mr.DVS clean governance...may take action against Mr.Yeddy...Mr.JS might give his CM chair to Mr.Renukacharya..who will be supported again by Mr.Yeddy...by the time assembly election...finally Mr.Yeddy will have no supporters left. Again he will make friendship with Mr.Devegowda & Mr.Kumaraswamy....so ..on storry will continue like ''Sas bhi khabhi buhu te''!
