Mangalore, Jul 7: ‘Shanthi Prakash’, an organization, held the book release of ‘Tafheem ul Quran’, a kannada version held at the town hall here on Friday June 6.
Suhail Uppinangadi recited the verses from the Holy Scripture.
Dr Saiyad Akhil Ahmad, Dean of Mysore University was the chief guest and Dr Thalthaje Vasanth Kumar, principal of Mumbai University released the holy book ‘Tafheem ul Quran’.
Mohammad Kunha welcomed the gathering and Rahmathulla presided over the function.
Mohammad Kunha said that the holy book will be releasing six more volumes in next three years and have also planned to make a CD version.
Speaking on the occasion, Vasanth Kumar said that ‘Shanthi Prakash’ has shown a tremendous effort in working towards the betterment of humanity since its inception in 1988 and asked the people to penetrate deep into the book in order to understand the powers of it.
Saiyad Akhil Ahmad in his speech briefed about the Islamic religion and said that universalisation is the main hallmark of Islam. Community gap should be reduced so that harmony may prevail in the society, he said.
Pradeep Kumar Kallur, president of Dakshina Kannada Sahitya Parishat, B S Sharfuddin, Mohammad Saad Belagami among others were present.
