DVS Resigns : 'Will Retire from Politics if Allegations Proved'

Bhaskar Achar
Daijiworld Media Network - New Delhi

New Delhi, Jul 8: Sadananda Gowda, the 20th chief minister of Karnataka, has officially resigned from his CM post. He submitted his resignation to party chief Nitin Gadkari on Sunday July 8 morning in New Delhi.

On Saturday evening, in an emotional statement, the outgoing chief minister of Karnataka D V Sadananda Gowda openly challenged his detractors to prove the allegations against him, that he was running the state government according to the dictates of former PM H D Deve Gowda.

Speaking exclusively to daijiworld in New Delhi, he said, "I am saddened by the allegation by a section of our party, who alleged me of having nexus with JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda and his sons. If it is proved I will retire from politics."

"I was trained at Mangalore RSS unit, I am a disciplined cadre of RSS as well as BJP, I have done my best for the state in the last 11 months. Total absence of corruption is the highlight of my governance. But those who could not tolerate my success levelled allegations on me. I will remain as a sincere worker of the party. Jagadish Shettar is senior to me, and an experienced politician. I am confident that he would deliver his role to the best of his ability. I wish him all the best and render my full co-operation," he said

Further speaking on this current political crisis DSV said, "Politics is like a kabaddi game, pulling each other's legs is common here. One has to get out,  and now its my turn. The game is very sensitive, if you cross the line even a little, you are out."

"I am sad that this has happened when so many districts in our state are facing drought. The state machinery has come to a standstill. By Monday the new CM should take oath, and should work immediately on the drought crisis," he said.

"I became CM by chance, and now I am going out according to the high command's choice. To remain in power is not important to me, but my resignation should create a peaceful environment in the party. Wel should all unite, differences should be solved, as in another 7-8 months time we will go for polls. If all is fine no doubt we will come back to power once again," said DVS.

Advani too gets Emotional

Senior BJP leader has approved Sadananda Gowda's exit half-heartedly. He was almost in his tears when he asked DVS to step down. "I am proud of you. When the party was going through crisis in Karnataka, you took up the leadership and took Karnataka in the right direction. I am very happy about your 11-month corruption-free government, but sometimes we need to take tough decisions in politics. You hail from the coastal belt, where people have strongly supported BJP during the time of crisis. Hope people of the coastal Karnataka understand the current political scenario," said Advani.

Exit of DVS rule is a clear case of caste domination of caste factor in political arena. For this situation only DVS is responsible by siding with castism.Because Yedyurappa was not a castist hence DVS was made as CM.There was clear sign of internal allignment by DVS and JDS in the state which was the main itching factor for Yeddyurappa. With the present development one should not assume that BJP will be a looser in the next election though majority vollaliga and others may stay away from BJP.Yedyurappa has the cabability to lead the BJP to power.Only deterent fact will be if Congress and JDS forges an alliance for next election in the state. In fact the present senario likely to give birth for new poliitical equation.Only time will tell the success of the new allignment.
BJP should work on developmental priorities in the right ernest in the remaining period without any internal differences to consolidate for next election in 2013 because people are fed up with BJP style of rule htherto.

Indeed a very sad day for India. Sadananda Gowda appeared to be honest gentleman with integrity..well groomed by his education at St.Philomena's Puttur and Dakshina Kannada in general..he was near and dear to people of all religions..people believed in him.. at least those from South Canara...As Shakeer said in his comment below..there seem to be no takers for good people!!!!!It is indeed kabaddi..played within the party..The lone guy from Dakshina Kannada and his friends in one side and rest of the party on the other side..you have to be afraid of people on both sides, including your side!

Yedi is under the impression that he has won the battle. The only way to bring him down to earth is by expediting all the pending corruption cases against him and his near ones. judgement in all these cases have to come out within a year so that once these people are sentenced all their gameplan will be exposed. karnataka people will then be able to cast their vote in the next elections sensibly. how i wish the sooner the better because yedi will not allow all this to happen easily as the present CM will definitely be under his control. God save our loving state from now on.

YOU JUST WAIT AND WATCH. HOW SHETTARJI WILL TAKE OUR STATE TO NO.1 POSITION JUST LIKE GUJRAT AND GOA.I AM SURE SHETTARJI WILL ALSO FOLLOW SAME TRACK OF YEDDIJI AND DVSJI. - Rakesh Shetty..
Day dreaming Rakesh Shetty. Shettar will be a puppet of Yediyurappa. Better nobody should follow Yediyurappa. If anybody follows him, he will be in jail. DVS didn't follow Yeddy and he lost power. My question for you is simple: Is removal of DVS as CM is right or wrong? Forget about 2014 elections. BJP indirectly giving chance to Congress and Janata Dal by replacing DVS with Yeddy's man. This is a wrong decision and will prove fatal to BJP.

If BJP had continued with DVS who tried very hard to save BJP's face has not only got praises from people but also from opposition. Shettar may be good but Yeddy won't allow him to work freely. Yeddy will try to run the government according to his wishes and ultimately it will be the final nail on the coffin.

This acting is all because of his daylight dreaming and hope of he becoming PM at the age of 80! If he does not act in this way he will lose whatever meagre chances left to become next PM at the age of 80!.

The difference between Mr. Saddhu & Mr. Shetter/shut-tare is:
Mr. Saddu was elected by all the M.L.A's.
(All the M.L.A's have elected on an electoral ballot that is a democratic process)
Mr. Shetter was selected forcefully through terrorism within the BJP cadres.
Mr. Shetter and team terrorized BJP High Command with the synonymous sir name of Gowda to Deve Gowda an allegation fruitless, pointless.
The mistake of Mr. Saddhu was his training in RSS camp which he should not have done.
    This was his biggest error.
Hence BJP cadres roused in terror
High Command to Low command with a thunder.
However this was a biggest blunder.
    RSS IS A BACK BITER.

Rakesh Shetty...I didn't tell you to agree for my comments. They are my personal views. For me BJP high command is spineless. They are slaves of Yediyurappa. Change of CM was not required at this juncture. What harm did DVS do during his tenure as CM? His only fault was he was straight forward, non corrupt and able administrator. Yediyurappa thought if DVS will continue like this, then it is impossible for him to occupy CM's chair in future. Insecurity led Yediyurappa to play games. Do you agree that DVS was non corrupt? This is my simple question. If he is good administrator, then why BJP bent their kneels in front of a thug? I am not supporting DVS because he is from coastal Karnataka or he is Vokkaliga..I support DVS because of his bold stand on corruption and welfare of the state.

The BJP High command has become spineless and impotent. This high command has bowed to the pressure tactics of corrupt Yeddy and his supporters by asking Mr. Sadananda Gowda to submit his resignation to CM post. Yeddy and his supporters only talk of Lingayat vote bank who might have supported BJP. What about the other pople/electorate of Karnataka who have voted for BJP expecting a good governance and development from them? What is this caste equation? Have these people become politically bankrupt just to talk only about caste? Is there any sense in choosing CMs based on the caste to which he or she belongs. Mr. Sadananda Gowda, is one of the honest and cleanest CM Karnataka has seen and to shunt him of out of the office in this manner is an insult to the people of Karnataka. Now it is the turn of people of Karnataka to teach Yeddy and his supporters a lesson in the next general election so that they no more play with the destiny of the people of Karnataka.

I am not supporting Congress either. Simple question to you..Is the BJP high command is right in showing door to DVS? Are they right in bending to blackmailer Yediyurappa? What about Advani's rath yathra on corruption? Why BJP has to favour puppet of greatest thug in the history of Karnataka politics? Don't act as if you are in 10th century.
