Mangalore, Jul 9: The report prepared by three interlocutors Prof. Radha Kumar, journalist Dilip Padagaonkar, M M Answari as per the directions of the UPA government on Jammu Kashmir has taken the partnership of the separatists. In the report it is recommended to go on (continue) with ‘special autonomous status’ given to Jammu Kashmir under article 370 of the Indian constitution though it was temporary. Congress party does not have the willpower to save Jammu Kashmir as part of the nation, it is only aiming at ruling the nation, rued MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.

He was addressing a protest meet organized by Save Jammu Kashmir Struggle Committee, Mangalore in front of the DC’s office here on Monday July 19.

Degrading the UPA government, MP said that the stand of congress on Jammu Kashmir shows its favor for terrorism. It is urging on for the autonomous status to be continued on Jammu Kashmir with the only aim of luring minority votes. Congress not being political for the nations benefit, but to create vote banks, he said.

There can be one prime minister to this nation and interlocutors’ report is in favor of separating Jammu Kashmir from India which should be condemned.

Sharan Pumpwell said that the UPA government is giving room for the currently ‘Pakistan Occupied Kashmir’ to be made ‘Pakistan Administered Kashmir’. Support for separatists in the report will be stringently opposed, he said. He alleged that the report was submitted to the central government on October 12, last year, but it was not disclosed till May 24, earlier this year.

Another speaker Sudhakar Joshi said that Kashmir is part of this nation and always will be. Sheik Abdulla, also had accepted provision of article 370 of Indian constitution as temporary, however in the report recommendation is made to make it permanent, he lamented.

Advocate Suvritha Kumar addressing the protestors said that as per the report, the governor of Jammu Kashmir is to be selected from state government, which is contradictory to the system of President of India electing the governor.

Prior to preparing this report, Kashmir pandits nor any patriot muslims who wish Jammu Kashmir to be part of the India, were consulted by the interlocutors, he said.

Leaders Jagadeesh Shenava, Gopal Kutthar, Dr Vaman Shenoy, Monappa Bhandary, Ramesh H among others were present. Later protestors handed over the memorandum to the DC which was addressed to the President of India.

Sharing an incident related in our Saki Naka Bible study classes.
During the 80’s, a Muslim agitator was condemned to death for arson and murder. The hangman was a Christian. Mobs attacked all Christian churches & schools. They approached Bishop’s House to pillage & ransack the church & premises. At the entrance to Bishop’s House, there was a grotto of Mother Mary.  The moment the crowd saw the grotto, they put down their weapons and reverently knelt down in honor of Mother Mary. The situation was defused.

One should know the history before commenting on anything, until 1953 Kashmir had its own prime minister and chief Minister, India had to manage with defenses currency and communication. And I think there are better people to deal with it, why should we get carried off.
And politicians are cause for all the distraction that people face in India, we should first be good with our neighbors then neighboring states and then think of the state which is too far and must have not even been, I bet people who are in protest would have never even seen Kashmir, other than on TV/Movie. It’s only because they (protestors) have no other work they are wasting their time and other too.

As long as this remains in contention the better for all 'political parties' to draw mileage on this account. No one has a 'ironwill' to handle the issue nor wants to! Sorry but purpose does this memorandum serving to the DC do?He recieves many every day!

What Kashmir needs now is investments in education, infrastructure etc. so that the youth can be gainfully employed. That will bring down the separatist mentality.
If article 370 hinders non-kashmiris investing on the state (and not much Kashmiri businessmen are around) then it is time to rethink about article 370. Not because BJP opposes article 370.
