Udupi: Lokayukta Officials Raid RTO Following Public Complaints

Udupi, Jul 9: The Lokayukta on Monday July 9 swooped down on the regional transport office (RTO) to check alleged irregularities in the RTO's functioning.

The Lokayukta officials raided the photocopying centre, vehicles, travelling centre and offices of middlemen to investigate irregularities, if any, following complaints from the public.

The Lokyukta officials of Mangalore and Udupi jointly conducted the raid.

Sources said that the Lokayukta officials led by Jangamaiah confiscated documents and cash.

However, investigations are still on and no clear details are available.

Lokayukta police inspectors Timmayya, B P Dinesh Kumar and others took part in the raid operation.

    VERY GOOD MOVE OF LOKAYUKTA. GOOD WORK. ALSO IF THEY SILENTLY RAID TO LAND REGISTRATION DEPARTMENT MAY BE THEY CAN AVAIL MILLIONS OF REVENUE TO GOVERNMENT.

    Good Work Lokayukta!!!!!! Requesting to also pls make a raid to all Govt Offices (Specially Income Tax Dept, Taluk Offices) U will definetly catch the big Gold fishes. Keep up the good work Lokayukta Officials .

    Every vehicle rigistration gives these RTO scums money without receipt.The two wheelers dealers take money from buyers for them.Every driving licence also gives enough money to RTO personnel.I am sure the part of collection goes to the minister in charge.

    My driving license renewal and change of address took almost two and half months to come through, as I did not pay any bribe to RTO office. I paid the Rs.250 fees at the cash counter for smart card. It is a well known fact that there is a nexus between all driving schools & RTO officers, where driving schools guarantee their customer a quick licence with the extra payments of Rs. 1000/1500. Currupt RTO officers are paid off requlary for this favour.

    Our Indian Justice system so slow..Many citizens will not get justice in their life time... No politicians, bureaucrats are afraid of law in India..They know that they can get away with Indian justice System.. Many of Indian laws are very old and there is no accountability in our system..

    In India, we tend to forget justice delayed is justice denied..

    These are smaller fishes. Big fishes which naked our country are caught rarely but always released on bail but never justice favors. Remember, this small fish also would be released soon. This is dirtiest corruption and politics existing one of the developing list of countries.

    Its too late for this raid.All RTO staff shud be put behind the bars 15 yrs back.Agents to be banned near RTO office.Best to raid govt.Babus homes and you will get the real loot.

    Lokayukta only has remained honest in Karnataka. All other govt offices has become corrupt under corrupt BJP.
