Bantwal: Man in Trouble for Comments, Pics of Islam, Prophet on Facebook

Daijiworld Media Network - Bantwal

Bantwal, Jul 10: A man of Bantwal origin has been booked for posting obnoxious comments and pictures on Islam and Prophet Mohammed in his Facebook profile.

The complaint has been lodged by Amaimar resident Abdul Khader against a certain Dilip Shetty.

In his complaint, Khader said that Dilip Shetty posted the pictures and comments on his Facebook with an intention to hurt and provoke communal sentiments. Already, the posts have attracted several comments and pleas for immediate removal.

Police are on the lookout for Dilip and may arrest him anytime.

Though Khader has filed the complaint against Dilip Shetty, sources said that it may also be the handiwork of some mischief mongers who are using a fake profile to create tension. It is not known whether Dilip's profile is a genuine one or not and investigations are on.

It would be better to QUIETLY take down such obnoxious posts on Facebook or any public space. If we were to jump at every instance such comments are made against any religion our lives will become dysfunctional. It is best that such troublesome elements in society be IGNORED and shunned, depriving them of the attention they seek.

This is absurd. Doesn't Indian constitution guarantee freedom of speech? And freedom of speech is unqualified - it's not freedom to say things everyone agrees with. You can insult someone and not be penalized for it.

    Good day to all,
I am against anyone who insults other religions.
People follow a religion out of their free will.
It is against all ethics to slander other religions. We must stop the attitude: My GOD is greater than yours.
Then there will be peace to all.

This is nothing but intentional act by some vested interests to incite and provoke communual violence. People should maintain calm and remain united so that these evil forces are defeated. Just ignore this person and pray for him so that he is guided to the light and refrain from doing such things in the future.

    Whoever it may be!
He will be penalised by Allah Subhanawatala by his own unidentifiable way. The One who has done this, he is not insulting other religion or playing with the feelings of other religion, instead he himself insulting his own religion. He does not have any right to hurt the feelings of other religion. This shows that how he has been brought up by his parents.
