Bangalore: Jagadish Shettar Takes Oath with Other Ministers

Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore

Bangalore, Jul 12 : A new page in the history of Karnataka politics was scripted when Jagadish Shivappa Shettar, who hails from Hubli took oath as the 21st chief minister of Karnataka. He is the third chief minister in the 4 -year-old BJP rule in the state. Shettar took oath in the name of God amidst huge applause and slogans from his supporters.

The event took place on Thursday July 12 at Raj Bhavan at 12 noon.

Followed by Shettar, state BJP president K S Eshwarappa took oath as deputy chief minister of state.

Ramayya Ashok, transport and home minister in the DVS cabinet was sworn in as the second deputy chief minister of the state.

According to reports, Halady Srinivas Shetty was denied entry into Raj Bhavan, as he had no identity card with him. It was speculated that he would get the ministerial berth in Shettar's cabinet. Kota Srinivas Poojary, BJP MLC from Kundapur was given berth in the cabinet.

Kota Srinivas Poojary - Only face from coastal cities

It is also reported that due to pressure from the governor, Krishna Palemar, C C Patil and Laxmana Savadi's names were dropped at the last moment owing to their involvement in the porngate scandal.

About Kota Srinivas Poojary

Born on January 1, 1960 to the late Annappa Poojary and Lacchi Poojarti, Kota Srinivas Poojary became MLC in 2010. He is married to Shanta and the couple has three children Swati (15), Sashidhar (14) and Shruti (12). In 1993, he became gram panchayat member and vice-president, taluk panchayat member in 1995 and zilla panchayat member in 2006.

Yeddyurappa Jai Ho ...

Throughout the oath taking ceremony, a bunch of Yeddyurappa supporters shouted slogans in favour of their leader - 'Yeddyurappa ki jai... Yeddyrappanavarige Jayavagali... Yeddyurappa is King'.

Yeddyurappa who was sitting next to Sadananda Gowda, raised from his seat once and folding his hands towards his supporters, asked them not to shout slogans.

But the supporters did not heed to his request and continued shouting slogans in favour of their favourite leader.

With inclusion of Mr.Kota Srinivas Poojary..where is now Janardhan Pookary stands. Good placement of Ministry. All are given equal chance.

Dont'worry Bunts never vote for congress in there life time due to they lost there lands in the past.

All are happy. All trio include Palemar will be in coming days. It's none other than congress goons creating havoc with looted money in the name of BJP.

Jalne Wale Chahe Jal Jal Marenge.. By this new development, chances of BJP will conquer more than 90% seats in Karnataka. We like to have Karnataka in the lines of Gujarat. We do not bother about Advani - we have new leaders like Modiji,Yeddji and more over backing of RSS.

The drama that unfolded in the politics of Karnataka during the last few days goes to show how desparate was the so called "desciplined" party to cling on to power. Any party/person with least self respect would have disolved the assembly and gone for fresh elections but no one was willing to let go of the power neither the state leaders nor the so called Central leaders who take a dig at everything that the UPA does at the Centre. Their actions of the last few days would not have won them any admirors. With elections less than a year away, the leaders would be out to loot the State of its wealth. Therefore every educated person must be alive to the challenge posed by the govt to its very people whom they are to serve.....

    Shankarnarayanan Aiyar T.A.S, Mangalore/Ramewshwaram,

Your few comments below shows who you are and what you are up to here. Please understand, I do not support or part of any political party. I do not like any of your comments below and let you know that I strongly dislike the tone, choice of words, and insults. You may have written comments earlier in some of the name or pseudo name. In last several years, I have not seen one comment from the above name till July 11, 2012. It is totally acceptable to have disagreements on issues due to someone background or religion, or CASTE as the case in Karnataka politics. As long as the disagreements are within a tolerance limits of other people or groups or communities, there may not be any problems or conflicts. The two sentences below from your comments are provoking and may result in to dislike someone. Hope you were just kidding or refrain from insulting other people: “Day will be near - Majority will rule all over” Yes, the INDIAN majority with full participation of all NATIONALS will RULE.
“No more crooked smile but of decent smile to view” – This hurts since in last two weeks, it was made clear by all that there was no corruption from DVS.

This is a clear idea says that BJP doing caste politics, since Mr. Shetty is a BUNT and they considering him under vakkaliga’s. Who will eliminate this thin line between Lingayat (bramin) and Gowda’s (vokkaliga or kshtriya) . This party is consider as Bhatt’s party from past, we young people thought and given vote by considering social reforms BJP predicted! This is what their outcomes now!

Mr. Shetty is an universe, without considering any party, caste, gender, poor or rich …he serves the society. Such a person certainly required for governance, hence he got maximum polls in all past elections!

The article should have begun this way..........The final page of the BJP government in Karnataka has begun........CT Ravi finally gets a berth after all the circus acts that he performed over the past 4 years. Loot maar in Chickmagalur will start with a vengence with limited time left. As I said earlier the number 11 batsman is at the crease and will soon be run out by his partner.

What ever we may say Shettar will be known as Ex Chief Minister of Karnataka even though he will loose the Chief Minister's post with in a month time..It is a total wastage of Tax payers money...Even though he survive for the full eight months we don't expect any betterment of Karnataka as they may be very busy with their internal politics as whom to project next Chief Minister of Karnataka after the 2013 assembly election ...

Mr.Yeddy is the most shameless person. Hopefully in the next election his own constituency will reject him. BJP high command including Advani should be shameful to support these gundas and remove honest leader like DVS
In the next election all the Karnataka people should only vote for independent candidate & not any party candidate

As long as corrupt ministry is in central not to worry by anybody. Nothing is going to happen.

if the autumn lays waste to a garden, the spring will bring that garden into flower...
but if that garden is destroyed in the springtime, who can make it bloom?...

if a spark flares up, then the rains might extinguish it...
but if the rains light a fire, who can put it out?..

Long Live BJP in Karnataka..Good Achievement for next twenty years..

A non corrupt govt led by him getting back stabbed by his guru and mentor is becoming common in our Country , when the sishya breaks roots from his corrupt/arrogant/selfish teacher to pursue his chosen path. All the best to you DVS for the future.

I think these new ministry has loot big amount in very short time. They have to make money for next election otherwise they cant win the next election. before than that they have to make money for their own. State BJP made naked to our State. In future i never vote for BJP. They neglected for Dakshina kannada completely.

It is a worst day for people of Karnataka.Inspite of N.Yogish Bhat 4 times MLA from Mangalore could not able to find a berth in Shettar's cabinet. It is really unfortunate. It is shame for people of Mangalore/DK .For BJP, people being good, non corrupt, efficient, sincere, soft spoken are not at all required. They need only people like Somanna,CT Ravi,Drunkard Renuka etc.,
It is wish that this government should not last any more and see its end as soon of as possible so that people of Karnataka have a siegh of releif.
No body wants to accomodate Yogish Bhat because he is from GSB community(minority faction of majority community) and they seldom demand for any favour in the form of ministerial berth though have shown unstincted support for BJP through out. They eiher do not get favour from Congress because they known that these people do not vote for them at all.So GSBs are left in lurch through out.Mininisterial berths are birth right of majority community like okkaligas,Lingayats,Billavas etc.,For Mnagaloreans more particularly for GSBs, it is time to understaand the ground reality and
strategise things in the fitness of things and formulate policies accordingly best suited to them in the coming elections.IRemember that Oppertunities do not come as it is but should be created. It is possible.
