Mangalore, Jul 15: Police have released the images of three thieves who stole gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 8.2 lac from Anugraha Jewellers in Kinnigoli on June 11.

The culprits were caught on CCTV.

It is learnt that the thieves broke the shutters of Anugraha Jewellers, owned by Prithviraj Acharya, using hydraulic jack. The thieves decamped with 170 grams of gold jewellery worth Rs 4.68 lac and silver worth Rs 3.52 lac placed in a safe.

Police have appealed to the public to contact them if they have any information pertaining to thieves.

    Its better to install burglar alarms with lights so that it goes off thwarting any burlar attempt. The alarm should be loud like a factory siren. Sirens can negate the action but CCTV will only record the action. If perperators face is covered, its very difficult to identify. So burglar alarm is the best...Burglar alarms can be connected to ones mobile and police control room too.

    CCTV has become most necessity in today’s atmosphere, it’s nice if every house specially main gate and compound wall are focused with the camera’s even offices and establishments should install it, it can keep things in control, one can have excess to the location from any part of the world through internet, and easily helps police if any kind of crime/robbery takes place.

    Once again CCTV camera did the job and helped the police force to nab the thieves. The police team in Mangalore is not bad but with this modern tech it is of great help. I would request there are more and more CCTV installed in most business establishments, houses, bus stops, roadways where vehicles speed beyond limits.
