Udupi, Jul 17: After paying his maiden visit as member of the new Shettar government to Mangalore on Tuesday July 17, muzrai minister visited his home town in Udupi where he was accorded a warm welcome by the jubilant BJP leaders and party workers. Poojary is also the district in-charge miniser of Udupi.

He along with newly-elected member of legislative council Monappa Bhandary were felicitated at a programme at Kidiyoor Sheshadri hall by the local leaders.

Addressing the gathering, he thanked his supporters for according him such a hearty welcome and said that he was made a minister without even trying for it.

"I was a member of gram panchayat when I first entered politics, and then I became taluk panchayat member, and now I am a minister. All my life, I had never met a national leader, and whatever I do, I shall follow in the footsteps of state BJP leaders," he said.

He further said, "I was in Bangalore on the oath-taking day to support Halady Srinivas Shetty. However, state BJP chief (and now deputy CM) Eshwarappa called me aside and said that I had been named minister. I was not ready for it," he said.

"A little later Ananth Kumar called me and asked me to be prepared to accept the ministerial berth. But I was still not sure. As a last step, the BJP leaders summoned Capt Ganesh Karnik and told him to talk to me and finalize things," he said, "Hence, the ministry came to me without any influence. I didn't have my family with me in Bangalore. Nevertheless, I am very happy with what I have got."

"I will definitely try and follow in the footsteps of the late Dr V S Acharya," he pledged.

MLA Raghupati Bhat spoke of Poojary as an example of BJP's integrity and said that Poojary had emerged as a minister from a humble beginning. "He was a member of the gram panchayat, and now he is a minister. Such things can happen only in BJP," he said.

He further added, "The late Dr V S Acharya's dreams and hopes for Udupi district will be fulfilled by Poojary. He may even surpass Dr Acharya in his works and achieve great heights. BJP will give full support to him."

Chairman of the third finance commission task force A G Kodgi said that Dr Acharya's soul would be at peace now that a capable man has succeed him. Poojary is the perfect replacement for Dr Acharya, he said.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said that nowadays the media is highlighting only the internal politics in BJP, but not the good side. "An ordinary person has become a minister, which will not happen in any other party," he said.

"It proves that it doesn't take money to become ministers. BJP doesn not look at caste, creed or money. Those who are committed will be recognized," he added.

Katpady Shankar Poojary welcomed.

BJP leaders Kiran Kumar, Udayakumar Shetty, Lalaji Mendon, Yashpal Suvarna, Capt Ganesh Karnik, Sulochana G K Bhat and many others were present.

When asked why Halady was not with him in the felicitation programme, he said that Halady was in Bangalore, and would have joined him if he had time.

Mr Rajesh Shetty,Please say something if it really makes sense, you have mentioned those who have respect BJP high command they have been rewarded. But it is the other way BJP High Command is dancing at the tune of Yedurappa and politician like DVS who have followed the BJP high command have been rewarded with humiliation.

    HK, Bahrain,
I would also like to ask the same thing to Nalin Kumar, if what he said was true, why DVS was brought down from CM post, and why he himself never stood behind DVS in a patriotic way at the time of crisis, and would also like to know why he is appearing in the fotos related to matters of Udupi district. His own contribution to his electorate, state and nation is zero!!
Mr.Raghupathy Bhatta made a good resignation drama for media coverage and now he too has joined people who have nothing to do but go on garlanding leaders, blocking roads, stop going to work etc.
Mr.Poojari, you seem to be a nice person, but fully ignorant of the inner mechanisms of corrupt BJP which made you as a minister in the first place.
Pls dont waste time putting your photos on the newspapers, attending public functions and talking all ajji kathe to the people and start being something different to prove you really mean business.
Mr.Poojari, may I remind you that you have very little time left given the time you have wasted already!!!

Dream of A. G. Kodgi looks being fulfilled. He want to sideline Halady to bring his son in front. But unless Halady gave way it was not possible. Now his dreams are going bright....

He was there with Halady when Suresh Kumar visited. Now he is there in stage with Poojary... Just imagine the mentality of this Shakuni....

I do not want to see your photographs and highlights in the news papers or on tv. Work hard at least for 11 months and show your efficiency, improve DK, help poor people, educate poor children, help the state etc. then you will be considered as a good minister. Don't try to fill your pocket, grab land, illeagal mining etc. :)

Kota Srinivas Poojary is hard working and diligent. These kind of ministers are not seen in Congress party.

JP Hegde is becoming one more MOILY/OSCAR. He was good, but now he is spoiled by Congress party. No future for congress party in state and country.

RAJESH SHETYY MANAGLORE IS VERY HAPPY THAT POOJARY IS MADE A MINISTER BUT RAJESH FOR HOW MANY DAYS YOU WILL BE HAPPY. IF SHTTAR SURVIVES POOJARY WILL SURVIVE OR HE WILL BE OUT. SO THERE IS NO NEED TO BE HAPPY. IN BJP RAJESH WHERE IS THERE A HIGH COMMAND. IN BJP ALL ARE HIGH COMMANDS. SO STUPID DON'T BE SO HAPPY.

Whatever the political developments happened in recent past, only in BJP and not with any other parties.
Mr. Srinivas Poojary looks like a "COMMON PERSON" more and a "MINISTER" less.
Has a lot to pay attention on personality development as well as the care must be taken from other senior leaders.

    CONGRATS TO SRINIVAS POOJARIJI.

THIS IS THE GIFT FROM HIGH COMMAND BY CONSIDERING YOUR HARD WORK AND GOOD LEADERSHIP.

THOSE WHO RESPECT HIGH COMMAND THEY WILL RESERVE SUITABLE POST. THOSE WHO IGNORE HIGH COMMAND THEY WILL BE KICKED OUT. ANY SINGLE LEADER SHOULDN'T BEHAVE LIKE OWNER OF ITS OWN PARTY.

IT LOOKS LIKE DK BECOME VERY STRONG UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF SRINIVASJI,SUNIL KUMARJI, NALEENJI,CT RAVIJI. THESE LEADERS ARE ENOUGH TO COLLAPSE ALL OTHER PARTIES IN COMING ELECTION.

I AM SURE LOTS MORE DEVELOPMENT WORK WILL START SOON SPECIALLY IN OUR DK. JAI HO BJP JAI HO KARNATAKA.

Congrats to Kota Srinivas Poojary as he looks very innocent clean politician.I was informed that due to Kota's effort Panchayath Member's honorary monthly sitting/meeting fees was increased. That being said, some of the BJP supporters in this forum questioned when JP Hegde,MP,Udupi-Chik constituency was felicitated by supporters which was considered by BJP supporters as indulging in HAARA/felicitation!!.Today's almost all leading regional papers are decorated with ads of Kota S.Poojari! I am not against the felicitation of newly inducted minister but I am expecting BJP supporters note on that?
By the by Raghupathi Bhat, Udupi MLA made big noise for Halaady's exclusion in cabinet and even offered to resign!!!But today U turn!!!Indeed KALIYUGA DA POLITICIAN.
