Bantwal: Sea of Devotees Take Holy Dip in Temple Lakes on Aati Amavasye

Bantwal, Jul 20: Over one lac devotees took a holy dip on the auspicious occasion of ‘Aati Amavasye’ at the historically famous Sadashiv Temple on Narahari Hill, near Kalladka, and Karinjeshwar Temple on Thursday July 19.

The devotees thronged both the temples starting from 4 am on Thursday till afternoon.

Many newly-weds visit the temples on this occasion. The temple committees had put in place all the arrangements, besides the KSRTC operating special buses to ease the crowd.

A few devotees ailing from asthma offered coir ropes as offering to the temple devotee at Sadashiv temple, Narahari hill, while others floated beetle-leaves with areca nuts into the temple lakes and had a holy dip.

Former MLA and BJP Dakshina Kannada district president K Padmanabha Kottary, temple committee president Dr Prashant Marla and temple renovation committee president Dr Atmanjan Rai were present.
