The person has been identified as Michael D'Souza, a fisherman from Uliya in Ullal.

At around 6.30 am, two other fishermen David and Jayaram fell into the sea after their boat capsized. Michael who was at the spot rushed to their rescue.

Rest in Peace Michael. You sacrificed your life to save the other two fishermen. I wish my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and friends. This is the wrong time to venture into the sea as the weather is unpredictable.
