Mangalore: 'Kolovari' Collection of Satirical Essays by Richie Pais Released

Mangalore, Jul 21: ‘Kolovari’ a book of satirical essays by Richie John Pais was released at Rosario Church hall here on Saturday July 21.

The programme began with a prayer song led by the Rosario church choir.

Dr Edward Nazareth, orthopedic surgeon was the chief guest and Fr Stany Goveas, parish priest of Rosario church released the book.

Dolphy D’souza, vice-president of Rosario Church and Sr Petronilla shared the dais. A brief introduction on the new book was given by Srijesh Tacode.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Nazareth congratulated the author of the book on his unique essays relating to the social life of a person and the society at large. "The book provides one with a wide perspective on the idea of right and wrong," he said. He also stressed on the importance of encouraging and promoting Konkani literature.

Author Richie John Pais welcomed the gathering and said that the profits arising out from the sale of the book will be donated to the late Fr Cyprian Coelho memorial education fund.

Vitori Karkal compered and Femina Pais the proposed vote of thanks.

Fr William D’Silva, Benedicta Pais, mother of Richie Pais among others were present.
