Team Anna Creating Controversy by Naming NSUI: Congress

New Delhi, Jul 25 (IANS): With Team Anna claiming that members of Congress's students wing created a ruckus at the venue of their indefinite fast, the Congress Wednesday hit back saying they are trying to create a controversy by naming the National Students Union of India (NSUI).

"It is unfounded allegations not based on any facts and is unacceptable. They are trying to create a controversy by naming NSUI," said Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) V. Narayanasamy.

Union minister Ambika Soni, meanwhile, said that the Team Anna members should have caught the protestors.

"Why will NSUI members go there to protest? They tape recorded conversation of protestors, so why didn't they catch them. It is just an effort to divert attention," said Soni.

A ruckus was created at Team Anna's fast venue at Jantar Mantar when some youths, claiming to be from the Congress's students wing, tried to take over the podium shouting slogans against the activists.

The youths claimed to belong to NSUI, but the NSUI denied any link with the incident.

Team Anna Wednesday started an indefinite fast at Jantar Mantar against corruption and in support of a stringent Jan Lokpal bill.
