Buying boats will be an expensive exercise Dinesh Pai, as everyone could not afford. One would be better-off learn swimming.

On a serious note, less and less rains now and over the future years will be the trend, due to ecological degradation and environmental pollution all over the world.

As SM Mangalore said, it is important to plant at least one or two new saplings for every tree cut, and also cut down the pollution, stop ecological degradation, and keep the environment neat and tidy always.

Mr.SM, at the end of the prolonged monsoon ( last year the last shower in Mangalore was on Dec 7th), I would like to get back to you in Mid Dec to check on the total rainfall. Please don't act like another environmentalist. We are already have problems because these people overnight become one.Recently, ex. MLA Vatal Nagaraj was talking on the environment. Now, what are his qualifications to talk on this subject. He was just a Jatkawala in Maddur , near Mandya. He studied only till the 3rd std. Even here I am not sure whether he passed ?

It was taught in school that Forest and green cover will bring rains .But humans are going in the opposite direction. Cutting trees and raising buildings without planting a single sapling again on the ground will only reduce rains. Also, humans are expecting a lot from this planet earth but does not give back in the same way by keeping it safe and respecting the nature.Time will come when water bodies are polluted , soil is polluted etc and humans will pay a price.I just saw a programme on TV9 yesterday that in 2020 1 KG of rice will cost 300/- rs.It may be true ....let us wait till the time comes.Even Bangalore has no rains as we can see Concrete Jungle everywhere.Hard to belive but it is true.
