Bangalore / Mangalore, Jul 28: Deputy chief minister of Karnataka R Ashok, who also holds the home ministry, has angrily reacted to the girl-bashing incident that took place on Saturday July 28 evening at the Morning Mist resort in Padil.

"I have ordered the city police commissioner of Mangalore to arrest the culprits immediately, whoever they are. No excuse should be given. No one has the right to bash girls, whether they are wrong or not. Who gave them the authority to beat girls ? Strict action will be taken on those culprits and they will be brought before the public"

He also pointed out that the activists raided the resort along with media persons with camera, which is wrong. Instead of taking media along with them, they should have taken the police, he said.

Jagadish Shettar, chief minister of Karnataka also condemned the incident, and said that culprits must be arrested immediately.

"I am in touch with home minister R Ashok. We will not spare those who violate law and order and take the law into their own hands"

As the government has to face the Assembly on Monday, the arrest of the culprits is likely within the next few hours.

Even the activists should have a system of implementation. After all the direction comes from the leader of the party which is the source of the problem. Attacking unarmed women is purely hooliganism. It is the minister who has to prepare and submit the do's & dont's with the activists if they have to stay active in their region.

Dear Home and C.Minister, especially, in twin districts the police's responsibilities are virtually taken over by RS/BD/and other Sanghparivar outfits.Anything which are illegal dealt by appropriate authorities only instead not like these goons. Therefore, begning from MORAL POLICE to CATTLE TRANSPORT issues should be tackled by appropriate authorities only.In this context, your special order to arrest law breakers and subsequent statement from CM might go down well with civilized society. We need law must take it's own course.Arresting culprits and there after cold feat due to pressure from 'influential' will not do good for society as a whole. Therefore, criminals should be kept in solitaire cell for quite long time to give a good message to civilized society and strong message to like these outfits to learn a lesson.

Mr. Minister..mere arresting these hooligans won't serve any purpose. Break their limbs or arms or legs so that they won't attack anybody in future. If you just arrest them today, tomorrow somebody will release them on bail and these goons will start attacking unarmed women. Time has come for the government to ban Rama Sene, Bajarang dal and similar organisations which create nuisance in the society.
