As a result, low lying fields have been inundated.

It is learnt that the water level is inching towards danger level of 30 metres.

The bridge across Kumaradhara was flooded on Monday. The bathing ghat was submerged and shops around the area at the Subramanya temple were water-logged. Traffic was affected on the Subramanya-Mangalore route.

Torrential rains also plundered Bantwal, throwing normal life out of gear and making transport and communication difficult. Several areas were submerged in the floods, and electricity was also affected.

Kodagu district

It is raining non-stop all over the district since Monday morning. Deputy Commissioner N Shivashankar has declared holiday for schools and colleges on August 7 and 8. Rain pounded all parts of the district, including Madikeri, Virajpet, Somwarpet, Gonikoppal, Napoklu, Bhagamandala, Sampaje, Ammatti and Shantalli.

A bridge was submerged near Ballamavuti village, while an overflowing stream left many houses flooded near Dairyfarm Road in Madikeri. Landslide on Perambadi Road near Makutta affected vehicular traffic to and from Kerala.

The wall of a mosque collapsed due to rain fury at Srimangala. As many as 72 people, residing in dilapidated houses, were shifted to a gruel centre set up at the nearby Kodava Samaja premises.

The Srimangala-Nalkeri Road was inundated due to the flood in River Lakshmanteertha. There were also reports of agriculture fields being flooded and cattle being washed away. Bhagamandala, the confluence of the Cauvery, Sujyoti and Kannike rivers, was deluged. The inflow into the Harangi reservoir stands at 3,628 cusec and the outflow is 6,600 cusec.

Wow! its great to watch rain in homeland. We miss this pleasure.
Dear politicians, dont spend too much on poojas( offring pooja to a God is free of cost ,I believe), now plan to spend to save the rain water.Construction of reserviors and repair of river paths are good solution for water scarcity. Every year we are getting good rain but we dont have sufficient plans to save rain water.Water simply going to sea. I think year by year river water level is reaching high, because of river bottom has been filled with sand and other trashes.
dear Reddy brothers, instead of mining some where else please try to mine in our rivers.
