Kundapur, Aug 9: In a startling incident, Udayakumar Shetty, brother of former BJP MLA Halady Srinivas Shetty was found dead in his hometown Halady here on Thursday August 9. He was 52.

Udayakumar, a farmer by profession, was found hanging in his house at around 6 pm. He reportedly returned from Bangalore on Thursday morning.

The reason behind the extreme step is still a mystery. It is said that he shared a very good rapport with Srinivas Shetty and there was no family or financial problem.

However, it is said that Udayakumar was unhappy and hurt that his brother Srinivas was denied a ministerial berth in the Shettar government which made the latter resign from his MLA post.

Udayakumar pursued his education in Bhandarkars' College, where, in 1981-82, he was the president of the student council. He was a well-liked youth leader, popular in Halady for his helping nature.

Udayakumar is survived by his mother, wife, three brothers including Halady Srinivas, and four sisters.

The incident has sent shockwaves across the district. As soon as the news spread, a large number of well-wishers and supporters flocked to his residence.

    Very sad news. My heart felt condolences to his family, relatives and friends. May the departed soul rest in eternal peace.

    If he has committed suicide for political reasons, it is not worth it. No one should take any such drastic steps for our corrupt politicians or political developments as both don't deserve in the current rotten political scenario.

    Shocking and sad news. I think he could not tolerate the insult happened to his brother Halady Srinivas Shetty. So our Government is the main reason for this suicide.     Very much saddened by this terrible incident.It's hard to digest that Udaya has taken such a extreme step. His, is a very closely knit family and Udaya cared so much for his parents and siblings. I will never forget how well he and his brothers looked after their father in his last days is a great example for other emulate.He had very good family support and one wonders what made him take such a drastic step. All the good work work done by him for his family has been undone by this terrible act of his.May his wife, elderly mother, brothers, sisters and other family members get the strength to overcome this great tragedy that has befallen them.

    I wish to share my experience with u all. A few years back I decided to commit suicide due to problems and un employment in my life. One day before committing suicide, I prayed only with Jesus Christ, for I was not a christian. But when difficulty came I thought no one can do any thing in my life, except Jesus, That night I didnt sleep I was only praying and crying to Jesus, Jesus forgive me, what I have decided to do is not right. But I dont want to live in this earth.Answer to my prayer was instant.Next day morning around 11 oclock I had a letter by post about my visa from Dubai. Therefore I request anyone who is miserable in life and try to put an end to your life, just offer all your trouble, problems under the feet of Jesus, Commiting suicide problem is not solving rather increases. Mathew 11:28 come to me all those who are tired and heavy laden and I will give you rest.
