Mangalore, Aug 16:
National Commission for Women (NCW) member Shamina Shafiq arrived in the city on Thursday August 16 to investigate the July 28 Morning Mist Home Stay incident wherein partying boys and girls had been beaten up by HJV activists.

She held a closed-door meeting in Circuit House where she spoke to two boy victims.

Later, speaking to mediapersons, she said that she would meet each victim personally and prepare the report shortly and submit it to the chairperson of NCW. "The two boy victims complained that the state Women's Commission chief did not meet them prior to preparing the report," she informed.

She, however, refused to comment on the report prepared by C Manjula, the chief of state Women's Commission and said the report had already been submitted to the NCW. She also termed the home stay incident as 'shocking' and 'unfortunate'

Also, Action Taken Report (ATR) which the DGP and Karnataka police had asked to submit within 10 days has still not been submitted to the NCW, she said.

On the delay in NCW's intervention in the incident as compared to the 2009 pub attack wherein the NCW members had arrived in the city with 2-3 days, she said, "In these 20 days, the state Women's Commission members visited the spot, only after that the NCW members can visit. I will be in city for another two days and speak to each victim individually and to the police."

She later visited the Morning Mist Home Stay for spot inspection.

    Dear Mr. SHASHI, CANADA,
Appreciate your advise to the visiting Women’s National Commission’s Member Shamina Shafiq. However C. Manjula had failed entirely to meet the victims and she visited only the Home stay House due to the identity of a Christian hose owner to harass her. Without reaching out to the victims C. Manjula’s report is only a prepared rapport towards the attackers.

Answer me who gave appointment letter to the attackers to attack the adults/ boys and girls. If so are they getting monthly salary through the taluk treasury/through pay roll in the name of Moral Policing. Who gave them the authority/???!!! And How can you justify their attack on the adults in the name of culture???!!!

Publicly Lip kissing is prohibited as per law. Yet in the Kumbh Mela all are running necked to have a dip. Why the HJV members are not beating them those run necked publicly.

The neighborhood were interviewed earlier by the TV channels and expressed their opinion that they have never seen such a kind party earlier except on the same day when these HJV Goondas attacked (If you have watched the TV news relayed on the same day the opinion of the neighbors was relayed).
To have moral or immoral inside the four walls is not prohibited anywhere in the world unless there is a dispute in between them or anybody complaints.

The attackers must be booked under Goonda act and should be inside the four walls to make them realize how is the taste of freedom.

How long you have been living in Canada? Did anybody robbed, disturbed or deprived you from your spirituality, freedom of expression, speech and right to privacy in Canada. Then why are you supporting a communal organisation like VHP RSS BAJE RANG ETC.If you so communal, you should leave Canada now and re unite your organisation in India.

Absolutely no, Sangh Parivar, BJP members will kill her one day as they did with the Sheila Masood (Animal Activist and Anna Supporter). This is truth about minority Condition in india.

    HI Shamina,
Most welcome to Mangalore,Please study the case in detail and prepare your report, let the victims get justice and the attackers get proper punishment. Please dont come to any conclusion unless you have evidence to prove, unlike Manjulas baseless onesided report which made every other women to loose trust on her. Please remember we are living in a modern world where most of the population speaks or sends their kids to english medium, wears western style clothes, consumes alcohol like wine, beer, spirits.

Most of the teenagers develops friendship in their early age, keeping this in mind what we(Specially Manjula,BJP,Bajarang dal,RSS,vHP) are talking about Indian culture and values ? (We chase British from India but continued their culture )Do they and their children follow so called Indian culture ? before pointing at others try to adopt Indian culture first in their homes.I hope you understand my veiews,I am a proud Indian but whats happening in Mangalore shameful,God help Mangaloreans!!
All the best with your report please dont let Bharat Nari down!!!

Madam also talk to the neighbours who had several times complained about Homestay. Be genuine & speak to both the parties, owners & neighbours, varify the trade licence & other documents, whether they maintained records of clients with valid ID xerox, get a secret report of all such similar homestays, & then prepare report. Most true matters are most of time never revealed by media, & they keep on repeating a portion of sentence over & over again.

Functioning of the Indian system is very yuck.. Why cant you punish the criminals on the basis of clippings.. Punish them for the sake of attacks on women. Donot take time in investigating why happend? what happened? how happened... No body can attack on women for any issue if a husbands beats wife provision to take action on husband under domestic violence acts This comes under rape and molestation just book the criminals and punish without delay..
