Mangalore: Seven Labourers of NMPT Injured in Truck Accident

Mangalore, Aug 18: Seven labourers belonging to NMPT were injured in an accident at Kulur here on Saturday August 18.

Of the seven five are said to be from Bihar and two from Karnataka. Three of the injured - Shambu (45), Balachandra (60) and Ratan (50) have been admitted to hospital.

The accident occured when the pickup truck ferrying them from Jokatte to NMPT rolled over. It is said that the truck was at a high speed. However, another source told Daijiworld that the truck's axle broke due to which the driver, identified as Lokesh, lost control.

The injured have been shifted to AJ hospital. They are said to have sustained minor injuries.

Panambur police have registered a case.
