Fake Currency Racket: Bantwal Man Held; Notes Supplied by Native of Udupi

Kasargod, Aug 23:
A resident of Bantwal has been on charges of supplying counterfeit notes to Abdul Jabbar of Kodakkad who was arrested for buying jewellery worth Rs 1.89 lac from Malbar Gold showroom in Kanhagad with fake notes.

The arrested has been identified as Usman (30) of Bantwal. It may be recalled that Kasargod police were in Mangalore hunting for the man who had supplied the notes to Jabbar, identified as Moidin Haji of Udupi.

Abdul Jabbar and Usman

Police said that Usman had admitted during interrogation that a certain Moidu alias Mohiuddin (also known as Moidin Haji), a native of Udupi who is currently in Dubai, provided him the fake notes.

Usman, a friend of Moidu went to Dubai a month ago, and came back to India two weeks back. While leaving from Dubai, Moidu reportedly gave a bag to Usman and insisted that he hand it over to a person who would meet him on his arrival at Mangalore Airport.

Circle inspector K Sunil Kumar said that Usman in his statement during interrogation said that the person who received the baggage at the airport was unknown to him. Kumar said that further details will be revealed only after the arrest of Moidu.

District police superintendent S Surendran said that a special team comprising circle inspectors of Nileshwar, Kasargod and Kanhagad has been formed under the guidance of DySP to investigate the fake note racket.

The investigating team also unearthed information that the counterfeit currency racket is active in Mangalore and a group from that city has been supplying fake notes to Kasargod.

Abdul Jabbar has been remanded in five days of police custody. Police had sought his custody for further investigation. Police said that Abdul Jabbar's statements during interrogation could lead to a major breakthrough in the case.

Sister Asha has Posed an innocent question here and the answer is we have to be aware of all the transactions involving bigger denominations in case there is a fraud we will be knowing from where did it initiate so that we can complain accordingly, in your case if it is ATM then it would better we complain to the manager of the particular bank before taking further steps.

CBI should check from where the fake currency originated from and is there any link between SK people and the Pak people. Moideen Haji and family should be repatriated to the country where the fake currency originated from after finishing his jail term. This is a lesson for those deal with the fake currency. Media should come out with more details of difference between these fake notes with genuine notes to educate the people. Also should give link to rbi website- finding out about fake currency.

Another threat to our youngsters are the cricket matches where students are lured into the betting racket with promises of huge dividends. They start by pledging their, watch, camera, mobile and then venture into petty thefts slowly graduating into seasoned crooks. Action please !!!
A special squad for youth safety should, be formed under the crime branch and drugs, gambling etc should come under this squad.

Counterfiet notes are very dangerous for indian economy. when you go bank to deposit some money,it is practice by the bank if they find one fake note in the bunddle and they just cut the same in front of you ( they justify that they were asked by the govt to do that) Here final losser is the single person. If daily bread winner got this one fake note as his wage what he will going to do. Electronic currency is the final solution for this. Govt should try to improve the electronic currency system for the future days ahead.

These types of incidents are repeating everytime and each time with bigger volume. The Govt. should treat this seriously and should form a seperate Police dept like the one which handles narcotics. Fake Certificates, Fake medicines and fake food items all should come under this special police cell. People caught on above crimes should be behind bars without bail.

Here how we make aware to our people about the fake currency and make law which will give immediate action on the culprits... ONE THING IS TRUE OUR SUPREME COURT ALSO TOLD ANY ALTERNATE MODE TO PUNISH MINE IRREGULARITIES... SIMILARLY WE DO NOT HAVE GOOD LAW TO PUNISH THESE PEOPLE!!!

In this particular case, first time I am hearing such kind of trap. Therefore, be it lesson to NRIs.Coming to Counterfeit notes, the issue can be treated as ANTI-NATIONALS and even can be booked under GOONDA ACT.If Govt did not take the issue as serious, such kind of 'fast bucks'incident will continue.

The Kasargod angle is dangerous for this country. It borders mangalore and it is a dangerous for this city. It is famous for everything from Fake Visas, Passports, Degree Certificate, SSLC Certificates, Fake Notes, Fake Dubai Police Cars, Fake Residents and so on. It is time that the police builds and creates and separate identity for this Kasargod city. Every bit of that city is dangerous from human beings though it is blessed with unique natures gift. Time we act fast before it is too late.
