Mangalore, Aug 25: CREDAI (Confederation of Real Estate Developers Associations of India) is the pivotal organization for real estate developers in India. The convention was inaugurated by the chief minister of Karnataka Jagadish Shettar on August 25 at the Dr TMA Pai International Convention Centre. He also inaugurated the two day Real estate exhibition.

The overall theme of the convention was ‘Home for All’ which will be addressed by professionals from among the fraternity of real estate developers.

Suresh Kumar (Minister for Housing and Urban Development), C T Ravi (Higher Education and District In-Charge Minister), Krishna Palemar, Ganesh Karnik, Mayor Gulzar Banu, K C Naik (Chairman of the convention), Yogish Bhat (Deputy Speaker), P M A Razak (president CREDAI Mangalore), Pushparaj Jain (Secretary CREDAI , Mangalore), Nalin Kumar Kateel (MP), Sri Ram, Susheel Mantri (President CREDAI, Karnataka) shared the dias.

The keynote address was delivered by Balakrishna Hegde, Member of National Executive Committee of CREDAI spoke on the scenario of real estate developers. He said that houses are taxed upon heavily which should not be the case. 45 percent tax is charged as government house tax which is paid by the builders.

He also compared Indian economy to the economy of other countries. He spoke about the problems faced by real estate developers stating that they need to visit and get permission from various departments in order to start any housing project.

The state should intervene and simplify the ever increasing tax structure which poses as a problem that heavily affects the common man.

Sushil Mantri briefed about real estate developments in general and their contribution to the Indian economy. Real estate developers face multiple taxation problems with relation to VAT, stamp duty, service tax and others. He requested the government to allot a single agency which will help to grant permissions easily for the real estate developers.

The chief minister in his speech suggested housing for all which would be appropriate for the state. He congratulated the organizers for setting up the convention on such a big scale.

He advised that the government has plans to spend more on housing infrastructure. Rs 19065 crore has been allocated for infrastructure development in various sectors. Currently this includes only 20 percent of the budget.

He also briefed about the future of major budgets in the state. The government will work along with CREDAI towards the progress of housing infrastructure.

Suresh Kumar assured the public that the Karnataka government will hold serious discussions along with CREDAI especially with the issue of single window agency. The single window agencies are the reason why the industry is undergoing delays for the project clearances.

K C Naik welcomed the audience, while Manohar Prasad compered the inaugural. Sri Ram expressed his gratitude to all the attendees of the convention.

Skill Management and development, affordable housing and green sustainable development will be the topics that would be discussed on day-one of the convention.

The exhibition will showcase some of the esteemed stalls like property infratech, K2 infrastructures, Northern Sky developers, Corporation bank, Shakthi developers and various others.

Rohan Monteiro, William D’souza, Felix Albuquerque, Rajendra Kumar, Srinath Hebbar, Ganesh Bangera, N B Naga Kumar (president, CREDAI Mysore), Geneivive Dias (president CREDAI, Udupi), Rajendra M and Nagaraj among others were present at the convention.

The convention will be held over two days August 25 and 26 which will include various discussions by international speakers and will also be attended by  as many as 1100 participant delegates.

Shutter wouldnt have reached Managalore if not for this function.

I wonder why Mangaloreans waste time honoring these useless guys by garlanding and putting a Peta on their thick heads.

As I said, we don't need corrupt people from the rest of Karnataka to rule and dictate over us anymore.

It's hight time we kick out such persons and start managing our own affairs as we have all the "ABILITY" and 'RESOURCES".

Apartments are not being sold as expected. Builders don't have money to complete the projects. Even 1 project has not completed on schedule in Mangalore due to this. All the present projects are lagging behind schedule.
So all this DRAMA is being done!!

Now in Mangalore is so exhorbitantly constly that only rich people can afford to buy House or Flat, they are the NRIs & Mumbai Businessmen of Mangalore Origin. After the recent Homestay attack drew international attention, the demand for Real Estate has come down sharply in Mangalore and the prices have ped considerably. Hence, it seems the present CREDAI exercise is an attempt to mitigate the adverse situation for Builders at Mangalore.

Please give priority to Mangaloreans dream projects that is will be the Superb Infra-structure of Mangalore.
The Ring Road: Development of the Ring Road from Ullal Bridge thro’ Kuloor, Maravoor, Gurupura & Kannur back to Ullal Bridge.
The Corniche: I Stage from Bunder Rail Station to Sultan Battery,
II Stage extension from both ends to Kuloor and Nethravati Bridge,
River Front Development like the develop of Nayar Kudru (Island) into a Tourist Spot,
Connect Sulthan Battery to Tannir Bavi Beach via Naray Kudru by a Hanging Bridge.
Instead of one long Hanging Bridge across Phalguni River, break it into two smaller bridges via Nayar Kudru and that will reduce the cost drastically.
    Jai Hind!

If just presence of dignitaries decide if the credit goes to BJP or Congress then Gulzar Banu shines more than other dignitaries on the dias.

Dear Rakesh Shetty, being in Mangalore you do not know who organized this CREDAI's Statecon 2012 Convention. This is the product of real estate developers in India. The contribution of state BJP is zero. The vip’s are dummy’s to decorate the stage.can you explain what is shining in Karnataka. It is unfortunate that there are no good roads to reach Mangalore. You see the airport road and then decide what is shining in Karnataka.
