Bhatkal, Aug 27: In a tragic incident, Praveen Kumar (22), Anjuman Engineering College student died in a road accident near Pushpanjali Theater Railway Station Cross, on Monday August 27 at around 6.45am
Praveen went to receive his friend Tauqeer Ehsaan who was on his way back from Lucknow. While coming back from railway station on their way to the hostel near Railway Station Cross, the Chetak bike skid and the duo fell down. Praveen died on the spot while Tauqeer suffered injuries.
Speaking to Daijiworld Tauqeer said that when they were coming from the railway station there was heavy rainfall as a result of which they skid off the road and lost consciousness.
People at the spot alleged that Praveen fell off the bike and a lorry went over the body and fled from the spot.
On the highway the bike was found while Praveen’s body was found on the side of the road. Praveen suffered major head injuries.
Praveen Kumar, a final year student of Anjuman Engineering College (Mechanical Branch) was a bright and hardworking student. He was a genius in class and a good scorer. He had not gone to his hometown Bihar (Gaya) for a long time but had just visited on his previous vacation.
On receiving this information Anjuman Hami e Muslimeen, vice president, Kashimji Mohammed Ansar , general secretary, Jukaku Abdul Raheem, college board secretary, Kashimji Abubakar , Javeed Armar, Abdul Raqeeb MJ, SM Azeem, vice principal, staff , non staff and students friends reached Bhatkal government hospital and offered condolence.

Praveen’s brother is on his way from Bihar by flight and the body will be kept at the Bhatkal government hospital until his arrival.
A case has been registered at Bhatkal town police station.
