Udupi Aug 27: Minister for Ports and Muzrai, who is also incharge of Udupi district Kota Srinivas Poojary appealed on Monday to the minorities to come forward to acquire the facilities provided by the government.

He was inaugurating the State Minorities Development Corporations loan disbursement function.

Loans amounting to Rs 267 crores  up to Rs 1,62 lac were distributed to beneficiaries from the Christian community and other minority sections here on Monday August 27.

Before distributing the cheques, Minorities Development Corporation Chairman N B Aboobakar said that economic empowerment of minorities was necessary and there was a need to focus on their education too.

From the past four to five years the government has been supporting the minorities to the maximum level. Not only is the loan amount high but also the recovery rate is growing steadily. Udupi stands in second position and DK fourth in the state.

Aboobacker also said that under the Bharatiya Janata Party's rule, the corporation increased the number of schemes to fifteen from five. There was a need to eliminate middlemen from delivery of services.

The Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation Limited was established on February 7, 1986 by the Government of Karnataka for the upliftment of religious minorities i.e. Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Parsis, Jain and Bhuddists with an authorized share capital of Rs 65 crores.

As per the 2001 Census the total population of religious minorities in Karnataka is 82, 93,576.

The loans were given as per the below scheme.

GERALD, MODANKAP dividing people on the basis of caste and religion was started by so called secular party kangress even before the political party called BJP was born. High class, low class, middle class, majority, minority etc was created by your so called secular party kangress for their vote bank. BJP is working for the people irrespective of caste and religion, but as Mr Prabhu said in his comments those minorities will not vote for BJP at all even after taking good benefits.

The only way for Indians to really progress is :

    (A) To stop discriminating people as
    "Minorities" OR "Majority".

    (B) Words such as :
    Religion/SC/ST/Sub-caste
must be removed from all Govt.
    related documents, applications
    land records etc.

    (C) All People Of India, should be
    eligible for all facilities
    based on their economic
    standing in the society and
not on the basis of religion,
    caste or being "MINORITY" or
    whatever.

DOES THE CONSTITUTION OF INDIA DISCRININATE US CHRISTIANS AS "MINORITIES"??

WHY CHRISTIANS SHOULD BE AT THE MERCY OF THE CORRUPT AND ANTI CHRISTIAN/ANTI-SECULARISM BJP??

WE CHRISTIANS ARE PROGRESSIVE INDIANS FIRST AND NOT MINORITIES OR SECOND CLASS CITIZENS OF OUR BELOVED NATION AS BJP PORTRAYS US.

    SHAME ON CORRUPT BJP.

    @ISMAIL.K.PERINJE, PERINJE-YANBU/KSA i will explain your logic.

If your secular party Kangress gives Rs.100/- to minorities for the sake of eyewash also you will say jai ho jai ho 1000 times.

But when BJP really does some good to the minorities you will call it as drama, natak, vote bank politics in your language. Now your secular party kangress is also scared of loosing minority votes.

Overall i would say you people cannot digest good work done by BJP towards minorities.

Good Gesture, Shri. Kota Srinivas Poojary, We genuinely appreciate the good gesture and work towards attaining peace and harmony in society to make the world a better place to live in. Please also bear in mind, we being minority, are hard working and have contributed our best to the society irrespective of cast and creed. We need dignity. No Political party should have any bias against any community at the same time no community should have any bias against any political party. Support/opposition should be issue based and the persons ethics based. LONG LIVE FOR THE GOOD WORK!

I agree BJP expanding it's support base by introducing more welfare schemes for minorities!Literally is it not a appeasement of minorities? On the other hand we need law and order system to be prevailed instead. Minorities @ receiving end these days and BJP, on the other hand bashing minorities every opportunities when it feels that the issue can consolidate VOTE BANK in favor of them. Can BJP empower minorities politically(no MLAS/Ministers/leaders in BJP)?Can BJP empower minorities in education/economic/civil services etc etc.....

Few intellect minorities (like our anna Aboobakkar) have realized the contribution of BJP Govt for them and importance of BJP being in power. Soon many people will realize this.

These dirty congis never bothered about upliftment of minorities. Congis only sheltered terrorists and rescued them. Why congis have not built Haj Bhavan in Karnataka during last 65 years? It is our DVS who laid foundation stone for HAJ BHAVAN in Yelahanka, Bangalore.

Illiteracy among muslims are high. There are many people who can't even read Kannada signboard. BJP is the only solution for them.

Congis ate 90% of wakf land all over state.

When congis talk about development and welfare, the animals in PILIKULA and MYSOOR ZOO starts laughing.
