Mangalore, Aug 27: Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajarangdal jointly staged a protest against the recent violence taking place in Assam here at DC office on Monday August 27.
In this regard a memorandum was submitted to Chief Minister through district commissioner.
The memorandum demands for getting rid of Bangladeshi community by banning their voter id and also asked to futher prevent them from entering the country.
Addressing the protest Manojaram Tulajaram, district president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad said that the Vishwa Hindu Parishad has called for bandh in Assam today. The main reason for the violence is due to Bangladeshi’s entering India, he said. As many as two crores of Bangladeshis have entered India and around 40 lac people were provided with citizenship, he stated.
The central government and Chief Minister of Assam should look into the matter seriously, he said.
Jagadish Shenava, working president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad demanded government to not allow Bangladeshis entering the country. As we all know recently activists had attacked Assam community killing 153 women, he said.
Government’s negligence is the main reason for violence. Some of the Bangladeshis who had entered Assam are enjoying MLA post too, he alleged.
If this prolongs, soon they will rule the country, he alerted.
‘UPA government is main responsible for the violence’, said Sharan Pumpwell, division convener of Bajarangdal. The government should soon get rid of them within 6 months span or else Bajrangdal will step to the streets, he said.
Gopal Kuttar, secretary, Harish Amtadi, district convenor, Shivanand Mendon among others were present.
