Also, due to cancellation of skater Sharanya Mahesh's award (2010) owing to High-court court order, the same award will be bestowed on another swimming sensation Prajna.

Marks were earmarked for the participation in national, international and state -level events. As a result, those who got highest marks in each category were selected. “We were cautious while selecting the names,” he said.

The Ekalavya award winner will get Rs two lakh each. The lifetime achievement award trainer will get Rs 1.5 lakh, he said.

He said “we have asked the sports persons to write a letter to the state that all the certificates which they had attested along with the applications were genuine. If there was any loopholes, then criminal action will be initiated against such sports persons.”

The details of all the Ekalavya award winners have been sent to the Superintendent of Police of various districts, from where the awardees hail from, to verify their background. At last there some people who genuinely believe that Aswini Akkunji was a Victim of the circumstances, and she did not take drug knowingly. Akkunji has genuine talents like Mamatha, Neha, Roshan and not artificially boosted by any drug. The Suggestions given by Veerappa Madikeri, and Prasheesh Kumar Mumbai, are worth implementing to protect the innocent and unsuspecting players, so that they can freely concentrate more on improving their performance instead of always being afraid of getting drugged by their dietitian .

May I Remind the BJP Govt of Karnataka, that when these Players had competed in Asian Games and Common Wealth Games and won Medals, the Karnataka govt had d in the Assembly that all these Players of Karnataka Origin will be given Free sites measuring 60x40' in Bengaluru City. When Will the Govt fulfill its promise ? OR was it just a ploy to bask in the 'reflected glory' ?

VEERAPPA. D.N you are absolutely correct. Why the Individual players should be punished for the mistake done by the Coach and the dietitian ? Can the sports authority provide a "Testing Kit" to all the individual players to daily test the Vitamin supplements and energy drinks they are supplied by the Coach or the dietitian daILY ?

I trust Rakesh & sohanlal, under the pretext of protecting Indian Sanskruthi, will not object to the 'short Dresses' worn by these highly Talented Lady Players, since such sportswear show thighs of the women players.
Congrats to all these great players who brought laurels to Tulunadu, Karnataka and India, inspite of adverse situations and adverse caste factors, and in a nation obsessed with Cricket mania which is killing all other games.

Congratulations to Mamatha, Neha, Roshan and other Players for winning Ekalavya Award.
Thank God that you all did not have a foreign coach!
Just see what happened to Ashwini Akkunji, who had a foreign coach who gave her the banned drugs (energy enhancers) without her knowledge, instead of giving prescribed Vitamin supplements. It is a well known fact that the Indian players, especially women sports persons, never question their Coach about the Vitamin supplements given to them and as a result all the four players of our Asiad Relay Team got disqualified for the use of banned drugs as they had blindly trusted their foreign Coaches and foreign dieticians.
Is it ever possible for the Individual players to personally Test in the LAB those vitamin Pills they get daily from their coach before consuming it ? The Indian Sports authority should set up a separate team of experts to Test the Vitamin Pills and energy supplements daily in the Lab and Certify it on DAILY basis before the individual sportsmen consume it, so that highly talented Sports person like Ashwini Akkunji do not become victims of the over-ambitions of the foreign coaches.
