Udupi: Kudremukh Reserve Forest Issue Dominates ZP Meet

Udupi, Aug 28: The ninth general body meeting of the zilla panchayat was held at Rajathadri, Manipal here on Tuesday August 28.

The Kudremukh reserve forest issue dominated the meeting. MLA Gopal Bhandary briefed about the proposal of Kudremukh reserve forest stating that it has been withdrawn.

























BJP leaders Uday Kotian and Mamata Adhikari said that rumors are being spread that families from certain parts of Karkal will be rehabilitated. The leaders requested the concerned authorities to investigate the matter seriously. In response to this Manjunath Poojary accused BJP for spreading false rumors.

Problems regarding the ration card was also put forward. In order to include or exclude the name in the ration card, the persons presence is a must which leads to many difficulties said members.

They also demanded for construction of fence around the ponds and farm tanks as many people have lost their lives due to such hazards.

Transfer of premises of the regional office from Siddapur to Vanse was also discussed and Mamata K Shetty expressed her disagreement over the proposal.

MLA Raghupathi Bhat, Prasad Chandra Shetty, Kota Srinivas Poojary, minister of ports and muzrai, Katapady Shankar Poojary, zilla panchayat president, Jyothi Seetharam Shetty, vice president, CEO Prabhakar Sharma, Pranesh Rao, Vijay Kumar, Thimmapa, Savitha Shivanand, Upendra Nayak, Babu Shetty among others were present.

    There should be a minimum educational qualification for every candidate to contest election and reach this debate hall.What more we can expect from these leaders who cannot control a small district management. Election commission should amend all the laws and make changes which can bring revolution to the next generation.
