Mangalore: Applications Invited for Fourth Global Konkani Music Awards

Mangalore, Aug 29: Mandd Sobhann will be organizing the fourth global Konkani music awards on December 9 at 6.30pm at Kalaangann, informed Eric Ozario, gurkaar of Mandd Sobhann at a press conference held on Wednesday August 29.
 
Songs of any Konkani vocal music album released in the year 2011 anywhere in the world, in any dialect of Konkani by anyone belonging to any religious denomination are eligible. Devotional songs are also eligible.
 






The award will include a cash prize of Rs 25,000 (each), the title and the trophy with felicitation.

Application and nomination in the prescribed form, with proper attachments, can be sent to Kalangann, Makale, Shaktinagar, and the last date to receive applications is September 30.
 
An eminent panel of accomplished musicians will select top three nominees in each category from the applications received and they will be honored at the Awards Ceremony.

A separate set of judges will select the winners. The final winners will be announced and honored at the function.
 
The awards include Best Singer Female – 2011, Best Singer Male – 2011, Best Lyricist – 2011, Best Music Composer – 2011, Best Music Arranger – 2011 and Best Music Album – 2011. There is no age limit for the contestants, Eric informed.
 
Eric also added that either a bollywood singer or music composer will be giving away the award. Ranni Kogull – Queenie Fernandes and Rai Kogull – Akash Telgu (of soad -3 international) will perform on the occasion.

    Can daiji give the correct website to apply or email address from where the forms are available. Are the forms available on kalangann website still valid for the 4th competition also give contact details. Dev borem korum
