Mangalore: Home Stay Attack - ArM to Submit Memorandum to Governor

Daijiworld Medi Network - Mangalore

Mangalore, Aug 31: Arise Mangalore, which came into existence to protest the attack on Morning Mist Home Stay on July 28 in Padil, has now re-christened itself as ArM (Arise Mangalore), and has announced that the group will submit a memorandum to state governor H R Bharadwaj urging him to intervene in the issue to give justice to the victims of the attack.

It is said that over 2,800 signatures have been collected by ArM, which will submit the same to the governor, and also request him to take measures to maintain peace and harmony in and around the coastal town of Mangalore.

Meanwhile, ArM filed a Public Interest Litigation (numbered WP 30477/2012) in the state high court on August 25 praying that the severest possible punishment be given to the perpetrators of this dastardly attack.

It also urges steps to be taken to ensure that such an incident does not occur again and that guidelines be laid down for the local visual media on how to cover events of this sort without outraging the modesty and privacy of the unfortunate victims.

Speaking to daijiworld, one of ArM member said, "The goal is simply to make Mangalore a better place to live in. ArM will be the platform from where programmes shall be launched to further this objective. Arm has no registered members, only believers in the goal."

Mr Polali they have their agenda fighting the mist case for now. they arose only to fight this case, its a democracy , why cant u like a god human being n since u support the goons who MOLESTED take up the issues mentioned by u , cant u show us the way we will follow u too, come on take it as a challenge and come forward then see if u will not recieve support from us, simple talking like me n not doing actual work is a waste. but what to do its in our blood u see Indian culture always point fingers at others including myself.

Who is this R S?. He looks as though he has sold himself to the safron party. He does not seem to have a independent/impartial view. His vision seem to be blured by his own ideologies. No matter what his party does, he seem to justify every action even though the whole world may condemn it. The arrests in Gujrat, though late are a welcome sign and a warning to those who get away with it because of their power and influence, that ultimately law would catch up with them too.

Till BJP is in power we will not get justice... all promises done by the BJP in the beginning is just for the name sake. Anyway they will pay for it during the next election. If BJP feels public are fools, then they are making them selfs 'FOOLS'. Just few months left to teach BJP a lesson by public and public will teach them.

Submitting memorandum to Governor is not the right solution
We need to educate our young children not to join anti social groups
Provocative and anti minority speeches of Kalladka Prabhakara batta, Pramod Mutalik and others must be banned
We must encourage our children to join seva dal and other groups those having nationalism

Congratulations to all the members of todays socially inclined youth club, ARISE MANGALORE and the new catchy GenNext name "ArM" sounds good.
You are not the Govt to look into the general problems of this region. Let our elected BJP Govt do this job. Let the Parliamentary & Legislative representatives we have elected from this region awake from their deep slumber and act immediately.
You the GenNext should ARISE when there is Injustice, Goondagiri, Ragging, Drug-Abuse, Fanatic Dress-code by any religion, Anti-national activities, -outs in rural/urban schools, High-handedness of teachers, inefficient teaching standard by faculties, exorbitant capital fees and unreasonable tuition fees, communal colour in educational institutions etc. You the GenNext should give guidelines and street play on many youth related burning issues like drug-abuse, eves-teasing, ragging etc.
Good luck and keep it up!

    Dear All,

PIL is already filed in HC and there was a serious observation by Honorable High court of Karnataka.

I do not understand why this memorandum again.

The simple reply from governor will be " Let the HC give its verdict" and wash his hand.

Our Public sometimes so carried away by some incidents like Home Stay Attack. The action for this incident already there arises, then why so Halla Gulla,a noise!. Governor himself he decides his decision on facts of investigation itself, not out of his mind?.Sometime it is not so wrong to say a opportunity of a cheap flatform of a kind?.

Oh not again ! one more group. Ever since the home stay fiasco commenced, Many groups that were unheard of have mushroomed. There are more burning issues currently in the India, Lets raise our voice against price rice, inflation, unemployment, infiltration, poverty etc. Why don’t they have a Morcha against desecration of the ‘Amar Jawan’ memorial in Mumbai? Where is their patriotism gone?.

@ Rakesh shetty, mangalore: I completely agree with you. Kannadigas are not fools, They are intelligent. Thats the reason we are protesting peacefully. Submitting our appeal to the concerned authorities to take action. Not like your useless brothers who take the law in their hands. We know that your political god fathers will untern every stone to protect the goons. Still we want to protest and give justice to the victims. All the best to ArM. We all support you.

A very good deed indeed. These people must be compared with likes of talibanis of Afgan. It was a mistake that all of us chose to sit quite the last time that this has happened again. Political support for these idiots or not, they must be shown that they dont own this land of diversity.
It is indeed a shame that a few fellow readers have chosen to divert attention from the core issue. The core issue is why did these barbaric hooligans manhandle the girls & guys? Lets agree, they were partying or doing whatever they may have been doing which is none of our damn business, who gave them the authority of manhandling people. Get the cops or inform the parents. These rowdies dont shine with the goodness of true Indian spirit. They shine with the spirit that goes down thier throats, which makes them do it.
I really appreciate ArM for thier initiatives.
My suggestion for them is to have a online forum, to enable many more like us who are away to register & voice our support.

My suggestion everyone should play the morning mist attack video publicly on any presentation or exhibitions regardless local or international so that the publicity will go globally not to make the victims embarrassed but to get the goons and the government of Karnataka to get embarrassed. Hope the justice will be given to the victims in a short span of time. ArM keep up the objective until you get the justice. Jai hoooo...

So much cry and so much protest against Home Stay attack. Has any body bothered to protest against the attempted rape and pushing the girl from moving train in Mandya. Just compare the two attacks and come to the conclusion which attack is more severe attack? The home stay attack was of moral police kind and at the most Assault and attempt to degrade the modesty of the woman and unlawful entry into the premises. All the other cases are petty and may not stand in the court of law.
Take look at the train incident. It is attempt of rape, and Murder.
Both are 100 times serious than that of the Home stay attack. But hardly any politician or media or secular pundits have condemned this act. No protest has taken place. No publicity was given to this incident as that of Home stay attack WHY?

We were amused by GUV's inaction so far who was able to dethrone BSY with no time wasted! But what happened here?Once active Guv, now seems to be silent for unknown reason. When state Govt purposefully not acts up on the sensitive issue of public interest and the issue which is direct challenge to constitution of India, the last resort will be Guv of state in federal structure as an Constitutional Head.Dear Mangaloreans it is the time for arise and support ARISE MANGALORE to safeguard the glory of Mangalore.
