Mangalore: International Dermatopathology Conference Inaugurated at FMMC

Mangalore, Sep 1: Dr N S Chennappa Gowda, deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada inaugurated the international dermatopathology conference at Decennial Memorial hall, Father Muller Medical College (FMMC) here on Saturday September 1.
The conference was organized by the departments of dermatology, venereology, leprosy and pathology, FMMC in collaboration with Dermatopathology Society of India (DSI), Special Interest Group Dermatopathology IADVL and by the International Society of Dermatopathology with around 400 national and international delegates participating.
Speaking after the inauguration, Dr Chennappa Gowda said that FMMC is a suitable place for organizing such unique conferences as it is dedicated towards providing services to society. He assured full support from the district administration for any such conferences in future. "I am sure that this conference will help in the growth of the students", he added.
Dr M Raman lauded the institution for its good infrastructure facilities which he said would help in organizing more conferences in the future.
Fr Patrick Rodrigues in his presidential address said that curiosity should be the prime trait in all physicians in their studies and while dealing with their patients. This would help in better learning and finally improve science, he said.
While opportunity is provided, one should have the passion to learn and make best use of it, he added. He congratulated the organizers of the conference and the participating delegates.
Dr C R Srinivas, president of Indian Association of Dermatologists, venereologists and leprologists, Fr Patrick Rodrigues, director of FMCI, Dr M Raman, secretary, Dermatopathology Society of India, Fr Denis D’Sa, administrator FMMC, Dr Ramesh Bhat M, Dr Jacintha Martis shared the dais.
Dr Ramesh Bhat welcomed, Fr Denis D’Sa introduced the guests and Dr Jacintha Martis delivered the vote of thanks.
