The valedictory ceremony of the two-day children's literary meet jointly organized by DK district Makkala Sahitya Sangama and Alva's Education Foundation at Alva’s Vidyagiri was held on Sunday September 2.
 
The children’s literary and cultural convention that began on Saturday September 1, saw hundreds of children belonging to 45 schools witnessing the joyous time.

Children from first standard to those pursuing their PU were seen making the best of the opportunity to showcase their talent. Their thoughts emerged in their poems and stories that highlighted the dreams of future India.

Mainly, the works of children stressed on topics like nature, patriotism, games and the like.
Dr Mohan Alva inaugurated this unique programme on Saturday. Minister Appacchu Ranjan, Kannada Sahitya Parishat former president Harikrishna Punaroor, DK district Kannada Sahithya Parishat president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura were present.

Mahalaxmi Uppinakudru, student of Alva’s Kannada Medium High School presided over the entire programme. Speaking on the occasion she said that there is need for a children literary academy that would encourage students of Kannada medium.

The speciality of the programme was that president of the convention Mahalaxmi Uppinakudru, president of the poets' meet Anujna, and president of the tales and stories meet Ashwini, all were girl students. In fact, there were more girl student participants.

Tarani Sena Kalaga Yakshagana show was staged by the Alva’s Dheemkita Yakshagana learning center.
