Mangalore, Sep 6: DK District congress president and Bantwal MLA B Ramanath Rai said that the party is chalking out its plans to face the coming election for assembly constitutions.
Minister of state for railways K H Muniyappa who has been appointed as the election observer for Mysore division by the AICC will be on his visit to the district on Sunday September 9. He was addressing a press conference held at district congress office here on Thursday September 6.
As scheduled K H Muniyappa will visit all the districts which fall under Mysore division in coming days, and during his visit to the district, the district congress committee has planned to organize a district level party workers’ convention to be held at Urva Church Hall on September 9 at 3pm.
Rajya Sabha MP Oscar Fernandes and other state level leaders will also take part, Rai added.
He said booth level committees has been formed in the district and the list will be sent to KPCC before September 8. To a query, Rai said that former minister Janardhan Poojari has also been invited for the Urva Church hall programme.
Congress leaders Ivan D'Souza, Shashidhar Hegde, Mithun Rai, Praveenchandra Alva among others were present during the press meet.
