Udupi, Sep 7: The renovation work of the Vishwanath Kshetra temple with an estimated cost of Rs four crores will begin from September 9 said, Harishchandra Amin, chief secretary of the temple during a press meet here at Katapady on Thursday September 6.
The press meet was organized to brief about the programme plan for the upcoming renovation work.
Ashok M Suvarna said that the Brahmashree Prakashananda Swamiji of Shivagiri Mutt will lay the foundation with the presence of Satyananda Theertha Swamiji of Shivagiri Mutt.
Kota Srinivas Poojary, Minister for Ports and Muzrai will offer ‘Musti Kanike’, Jayaprakash Hegde will inaugurate a Science bulletin which will be flagged of by Katapady Shankar Poojary, ZP president. MLA Lalaji R Mendon will inaugurate the steam system and Jaya C Suvarna will preside over the programme. DV Sadananda Gowda will also be present.
As many as 104 associations, 163 representatives of Billawa Samaja will be present said Vasanth Salian, president of the renovation committee.
Katapady Poojary said that in the second phase the temple has also planned for further development with the budget plan of Rs 8.5 crores including community hall. Already Rs 1 crore has been sanctioned by the state government for the temple renovation, he added.
Ratnakar Anchan, Ramesh Kotian, Mahesh Poojary, Ramesh Bangera, Shreekara Suvarna, Shekar Suvarna, Naveen Amin, Krishna Sanil, Vinod Amin, R G Kotian among others were present.
