Mangalore: Sports Meet Organized to Mark Festival Season

Mangalore, Sep 7: Block Education Office, Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat organized a zonal-level sports meet for the primary students at Police Ground here on Friday September 7.
 
The sports meet was organized to mark Shree Krishna Janmastami and Nativity Feast of Mother Mary.
























































Anil Kumar Attavar, member of Mangalore City Corporation inaugurated the programme. He said that  academics and sports must go hand in hand. "It is important to give equal attention to academics and sports, and achieve success in both," he said.

Nagendra Kumar, corporator, MCC lit the lamp and presided over the programme. Students from as many as 13 government primary schools took part in various events.
 
Shivaramaiah, block education officer, Mangalore North hoisted the flag. Raghunath, physical education instructor, Vanishree B, CRP Attavar and Bolar cluster, Vani, CRP Balmatta cluster, Vincent, head master of UPMC school, Gorigudda, Radhakrishna Bhat, head master, Attavar high school were the chief guests.
 
Former mayor Ashraf presided over the valedictory function.

Rajashree, MCC member and Rajalaxmi, BEO, Mangalore South, Bhagini Silviyan AC, president, sports committee, Renni, secretary were present.

Students of St Ann’s School and St Aloysius School bagged the prizes.
