Dubai : Mangalore Mayor to Participate in 'Tuluvere Parba'

Dubai, Sep 10 : Indian Ambassador to UAE, M K Lokesh will be the Chief Guest along with Mayor of Mangalore Gulzar Banu and Dramatist Navaneeth Shetty who will be the guests along with many more special guests at grand "TULUVERE PARBA 2012" in Dubai on 5th of October, 2012 which is said to be an ethnic event ever conducted in UAE. 

With the preparations going on Community Leaders, Presidents and Office bearers including leaders and members of various communities of Tulu Nadu had once again met at Quick Bite Restaurant Hall, Muteena, Deira Dubai recently in follow-up on the preparation of the event systematically and released this news to the media.


 
M K Lokesh, Indian Ambassador to UAE has kindly accepted the invitation to be the Chief Guest of 'Nama Tuluvere Parba 2012' and grace the function which is indeed a great honour for our Tuluvas living in UAE.  Ambassador Lokesh, who hails from Mysore in Karnataka state, was the deputy chief of mission at the Indian embassy in Brussels. A 1977 batch Indian Foreign Service officer, he served as India’s ambassador to Slovakia earlier. 

A postgraduate in botany and in military science, Ambassador Lokesh is married to Radhika Lokesh, who is also a diplomat, currently posted as India’s Consul General in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Ambassador Lokesh has vast experience in the diplomatic field and served in different positions representing India around the world.  He started his mission as third secretary at Kandy, Sri Lanka, in 1979-80 and later was promoted to second secretary in 1980-81, becoming assistant high commissioner to Sri Lanka from 1981 to 1983. He has rendered service in places such as Lagos, Nigeria, Washington, Durban in South Africa, Slovak Republic, and Brussels abroad and Tamil Nadu, Mumbai and New Delhi in India. 
 

Gulzar Banu an incumbent Mayor of the Mangalore City Corporation, India, Member of the Indian National Congress, is the first Muslim and the sixth woman to hold the position of Mayor. Prior to becoming Mayor, Banu was a Corporator from the Katipalla ward, having been elected twice into the position. Banu won the 2012 mayoral election and became the only running candidate and was hence declared elected by default. She has visited Dubai an year ago and has whole heartedly agreed to be part of the "Tuluvere Parba 2012" as a guest to grace the occassion.
 

Kadri Navaneeth Shetty a born multi talent is an Dramatist, Yakshagana Artist and also a Writer having written many Yakshagana as well as Drama including "Kateeldha Appe Ullalthi' drama which is going to be presented at the "Tuluvere Parba 2012".  Currently a Member of Tulu Sahitya Academy has been awarded 'Ratnavarma Heggade Award 2011' for his Tulu drama 'Maimeda Siridurge' by Dharmadhikari D. Veerendra Heggade of Shri Kshetra Dharmashatala. He was also awarded Zilla Rajyotsava Prashasthi in the field of Drama. He is currently serving as a Circulation Manager for Times of India, President of Ganeshotsava Samithi, Bunts Hostel, Chief Convenor of Kadri Kambla and active in multi-functional roles across the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi Districts.
In the latest meeting it was also said that there are many more guests arriving from India the names of whom will be released later.
 
As usual the meeting started with welcome by Shodhan Prasad who carried on the proceedings of the meeting. 











Since there is an Mobile Blood Donation Campaign arranged, Ganesh Rai explained the importance of blood donation in human life both in life saving of others as well as what is the advantage to the donor as well.  He currently is compiling a book on the blood donors of various associations of Karnataka who have contributed in this great cause from long time and which will be presented to be recognised by the authorities concerned very soon.  He also gave a overview of the Tulu Parbha as how it is being thought, worked out and later will be presented as a gift to our motherland. 

Preparations are also going on in full swing with the compilation of 'Tulu Dictionary' titled "Appe Lipi",  by Premjith one of the Tulu activist in Dubai.  Also progress was recorded on Tulu songs release of a new Tulu love story movie which will be shot entirely in Dubai with star cast who are living in U.A.E.

Another attraction is a specially written and composed theme song on "Tuluvere Parba" which is getting ready to be aired soon.

Finally the organizers assure a fun filled event with full of surprises the whole day in the lush green open ground of Indian High School Dubai with ethnic food stalls, game stalls, activity stalls, charity stalls and cultural activities on the stage being put up by various associations of Mangalore in Dubai who are all geared up for the forthcoming event.

    There is leading kannada online & e-paper published from Puttur, Sullia and Belthangady with vast number of readers in UAE named Suddi Bidugade. I feel the organizers of this event should invite its Editor Dr. UP Shivanand. Its the only source for the tulu people to get the news of village level...

    nice nice....our people are coming....but please see how clean cities are dubai abudhabi...how much the government here considers public needs and provide facilities...may be mangalore collects even more tax from the public but in turn gives very least facilities...stinking bus stops..mosquitoes...please make manglore green and clean.provide dustbins, regular removal of garbage etc etc......order every complexes to keep their surroundings clean..
