Hard Decisions if Price Hike, Retail FDI Not Reconsidered: Mamata

Kolkata, Sep 15 (IANS): In a stern warning to the Congress, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Friday said her Trinamool Congress party was ready to take hard decisions if the measures to hike fuel prices and FDI in retail were not reconsidered.

Expressing shock over the twin-decisions, she said: "Loot is going on in the country."

"We cannot support price hike on diesel and reduction in subsidized LPG cylinders. Today, a decision has been taken allowing FDI in Retail Sector. It is a big jolt. We are really sorry," Banerjee posted on her official Facebook page.

"We cannot support anything that is against the interest of the poor and common people. Loot cholchhe loot (Loot is going on in the country)," she said.

Fuming over the "anti-people" decisions of allowing overseas investments in multi-brand retail and diesel price hike by Rs.five a litre, the Trinamool - UPA's second largest constituent earlier - Friday gave a 72-hour deadline to the Congress to rethink the decisions.

Banerjee said that her party was very much serious about the recent developments and were ready to take hard decisions.

"Sometimes speech is silver and silence is golden. We are not party to it. We are not supporting these anti-people decisions. We are very much serious about these developments and ready to take hard decisions if these issues are not reconsidered," Banerjee posted.

    Mamta is a wolf in the guise of a sheep, fooling the poor in Singur which turned out to the disadvantage for W.Bengal, it turned out to be a blessing to Gujarat and it seems to be the only thing she is capable of.

    No one will ever forget her dismal performance as railway minister.

    DW readers, I still remember the foolish vandalized the first KFC franchise launched in Bangalore, where you see the samepeople working for KFC, eating the fingerlicking tasty chicken and
    enjoying every bit of globalization in Karnataka!!!

    Mamta and the likes can only protest, but have no solution for the unemployed people, vegetable and fruits being wasted due to lack of cold storage, markets etc.

    Mamatadi behaves more like the Opposition than an ally. She has actually lost the backing of her own people in West Bengal as the people cannot be fooled time and again by her meaningless mimicry. It's best for her to focus on her own State and mend matters within rather than pretend to be on the side of Am Admi.All her ministers including Derek O'brien have become rubber stamp ministers.

    This is nothing but mimicry by Ms.Mamatha.Just a drama.She will never ever act against UPA coz she has been assured big share of cake in coming days.This is fooling the public and pretending that she will be with poor.Don't believe her anymore.

    Mamamata Benerji is not going to take any hard decisions agaisnt UPA. Just fooling the people by making comments.Niether they stop the diesel price hike nor the FDI in retail sector. They all together loot the people of India. All politicians are same.
