Bhatkal: Dead Snake Found in Juice Pack for Second Time

Yahya Hallare
Daijiworld Media Network - Bhatkal

Bhatkal, Sep 16: For the second time in little more than three months, a dead baby snake was found in a juice pack here on Sunday September 16.

Incidentally, the snake was again found in the juice pack of the same brand as earlier - Maa.

The incident was reported from Bhatkal Jamia Islamia, where a 12-year-old student, identified as Abdul Mannan, purchased a tetra pack of Maa juice from the Jamia canteen.

When he had finished drinking half the juice, he found to his horror a dead baby snake emerge out of the hole. He immediately started vomiting.

A crowd gathered at the canteen. Circle inspector Hariyappa along with sub-inspector Naveen Jogi rushed to the spot.

Abdul was taken to Bhatkal government hospital, after which he was instructed to get admitted to Wenlock hospital in Mangalore for a complete check-up.

Speaking to Daijiworld, Jamia Islamia principal Maulana Abdul Bari Nadvi said that nearly 600 students are studying in Jamia and such a thing had never happened before.

A case has been registered in Bhatkal rural police station. Health inspectors are expected to arrive in Bhatkal on Monday September 17 to investigate.

It may be recalled that on June 6, two ladies in Bhatkal had purchased Maa tetra pack from a shop and had found a dead baby snake in it. The fact the incident has repeated in Bhatkal with the same brand of juice indicates that there might be a conspiracy involved, say sources.

Vicky Dubai, Does your comment mean even after knowing that "small" snake is inside the pack, you wish to drink the same brand of juice?
You need to see how many people liked/dis liked your comment- you will get an answer

Through the earlier post you may see the date of manufacture was 17th March 2012 and the current one was on the 13th May 2012.hence definetly it couldn't be the case where the same consignment could have been sent to Bhatkala. Moreover if eggs were hatched in the factory and the baby snakes are around it would have surely grown bigger in 2 months ,however in the past and the present images the size of the snakes seems the same .For sure it is some kind of filthy game played by some Bhatkala localites with the grudge against the distributor.

GOTI SODA IS MUCH BETTER THAN MAA, BAAP OR PITHAJI!!!
    BECAUSE IT IS TRANSFEENT!
    ALWAYS GO FOR SEE FOOD!
    SEE WHILE EAT OR DRINK!
TETRA PACKS MILK OR JUICE IS VERY DANGERUS BECAUSE YOU CAN SEE THE INSIDE PACK AFTER CONSUMING ONLY.

SO I SUGGEST ALWAYS GO FOR TRANSFERENT PACKS.

    CHOICE IS YOURS.

Some of the readers assertions are an unnecessary and unwelcome distraction from present-day concerns.
Daiji never mentioned that snake emerged from straw. It says 'a dead baby snake emerge out of the hole'.
The local web potal states that the boy took two sips from straw after which the boy realized that the juice stopped flowing out. He tried to return back the pack asking for replacement which canteen operator refused since the drink was opened.
It was after this the boy pressed the packet will all his energy only to find the snake as shown in picture.
Police have registered case against manufacturer, distributor, and Canteen. The sample has been dispatched to laboratory in Bangalore for futher investigation.

Damn INDIAN investigation dept and the people who dont think this matter as serious.

At least i request DAIJIWORLD MEDIA to please contact health inspectors regarding this and keep on s with the daijiworld viewers .

My main intention is it must not occur again " because if it happens again it may occur to my people also "

Something fishy in this matter. It looks like Baby Dead Snake is ed like Straw to Juice Pack & Halla Gulla is started. How can a Dead Snake pop up from a tiny hole of Tetra Pack like a alive one ? Best is that Health Department order all Tetra Packs of this product for a thorough check up so that real story can be revealed. Also investigation is needed on people who found this problem, the dealers, the compitetors, the manufacturer, & his manufacturing unit. Anything can happen in Bhatkal...eg: some people or so much wanted under law, that even our intellegence are unable to trace them.

Maa is basically a company originally from Tamil Nadu..so probably there shouldnt be any revenge of Bhatkal people ot anbody in that case against somebody at Tamil Nadu..Kindly check whether the tetra packs are of the original company and also check for any ugly competition going on in the place amongst the local manufacturers with Maa..

There are many possibilities like it maybe a duplicate product or also may be both these packs are original and were packed at the same time and maybe newly hatched snakes might have somehow gotten into the packing systems and the whole consigenment might have landed at Bhatkal.

Most importantly I would suhhest the commentators to think and comment about what they are talking. You just sometimes cant relate things to the people of an area and talk rubbish. We all know Bhatkal of late has been in news for all wrong reasons but that doesnt mean people will fake snakes in their juice packs..Lets have some common sense..If a kid is admitted in Wenlock there must be something wrong..

Vikram, mangalore/sharjah, I fully agree with you. I feel that, this is done deliberately. Otherwise, how it happened for the same brand and at the same area. There may be every possibility that, this is not the original product sold by the company. May be somebody is selling the adultered product.

I have no objection in banning MAA, but before taking this drastic step, let the authorities find out who is the real culprit, then punish.

A thorough investigation has to be made to find out the real culprit.

Please go through our earlier comments on the subject. We had suggested a thorough enquiry ont he earlier incident. We still do not know if there was any genuine enquiry. We need to find out if any employees/compititors are involved in this episode. If anyone is involved, the person/s should be taken to task as it is putting the consumers at risk. In our earlier comments, we had suggested that all the packs from the market should be brought back to the factory as a precaution, till the enquiry is completed. This incident was forgotten due to other happenings later on.
