Mangalore, Sep 16: The Malayali Samajam, Mangalore celebrated Onam at C V Nayak Hall, Bunts Hostel here on Sunday, September 16.

Vishwanath Pandith, president of Malayali Samajam inaugurated the programme and explained the significance of the festival.

Dr Jayakrishnan, chief cardiologist, Omega Hospital delivered the Onam message and extended warm greetings to everyone present. He also appreciated the organizers for keeping alive the Malayali culture and promoting it.

Salina Kumar M, convener welcomed and Subeesh Kumar, secretary thanked the gathering. M Iqbal, vice-president, formally inaugurated the newly-designed website of Malayali Samajam.

Variety entertainment, Onam feast (onasadhya), tug-of-war and flower arrangement competitions were part of the event.
