Nine Indians Among 12 Killed in Saudi Bus Accident

Jubail, Sep 17 (Arab News): Twelve expatriate workers died in a horrific road accident in Jubail 2nd Industrial City on Sunday. Eleven of them were Nasser S. Al-Hajri Corporation employees.

Twenty-five workers received multiple injuries during the accident. They were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Among the dead were nine expatriates from India - four from the south Indian state of Kerala, two each from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, and one from Andhra Pradesh. Two others were from Nepal.

According to police, a trailer plowed into the bus carrying the workers. Such was the impact of the collision that the two vehicles burst into flames.

Jubail Traffic Police chief Col. Saud Al-Otaibi told Arab News that besides the trailer and the bus, two cars were also caught up in the accident.

Dozens of civil defense units, traffic and security patrols, Royal Commission Industrial Security personnel and teams from the Saudi Red Crescent carried out rescue operations.
Some of the bodies were charred beyond recognition.

Nasser S. Al-Hajri Corp. Managing Director Ravi Pillai conveyed his condolences to the relatives of the victims. He visited the injured workers, hospitalized at different hospitals in Jubail, and promised them all help.

The relatives and family members of the victims have been informed of the tragedy by the company’s administration.

May their souls rest in peace and injured get speedy recovery and the families get strength to bear such heavy loss. Hai Jaimini it is reported that 9 Indians were among the dead, from where you got the figure of 10. why we should be concerned about Indians only, others life is not precious and our culture and religion does not teach us to ignore other human beings.

Being given to understand that the driver on wheels of the Trailer Truck was expatriate Arab national and his crazy driving ended up on head-on collision of vehicles from opposite directions.

Extremely sad to read the news. The family of the victims could hardly be receiving any benefits because, this a private construction company and generally these small contractor firms do not have a written legislation to pay out the victims their compensation in the event of a death.

I am saddened by the news and may almighty God give strength to the victims' families to withstand the great loss.

Which sick soul is disagreeing the condolence comments. Looks like a heartless person. With sorrowful hearts everyone is condoling their deaths and someone has to disagree.

Lord forgive that soul and grant Eternal Rest to all those who have perished in this accident and give enough strength and courage to their families to bear this loss. Help the injured to recover soon too. Amen.
