Mangalore, Sep 18: A workshop for the high school teachers of Mangalore, based on the theme 'curriculum for Peace: Scope and Challenges for Educators in imparting Peace Education' was organized at Sahodaya on Monday September 17.

A total of 30 teachers, 15 each from the south block and the north block, of various high schools were part of this one day workshop. The workshop was organized by the Mangalore Peace Educators’ Forum.

Inaugurating the workshop, the chief guest Fr Ronald Cutinha, director of Samanvaya and parish priest, St Jacob’s Church, Kateel said that teachers should focus more on imparting the right communication among students. Noting that children imitate their teachers, the latter should teach and concentrate more on values.
 
Dr Honey Cabral, principal, Karnataka Theological College and secretary, KACES, who presided over the programme said that the biggest challenge in the present day scenario is to nurture children with good values as violence is rampant all over the world.
 
Retired Bishop Dr C L Furtado, Sandra of Prestige International School, Sujatha Hegde of Government composite PU College, Car Street were present.
 
Sandeep Theophil, director of Sahaaya welcomed the gathering and also delivered the vote of thanks.
