Dubai, Sep 19: Karnataka Sangha with its presence in Dubai for the past 27 long years and as a part of the annual event will be holding the Dance competition “PURAVANKARA Dance Cup 2012” Open to all kannadigas from UAE. Dance groups from different community and associations from all over the UAE are competing for the PURAVANKARA Dance Cup. M/s. Puravankara Projects Ltd, Bangalore are the title sponsors.
Registration is open for Dance and Drawing competitions.
Date: Friday 21st September 2012
Time: 3.00 pm onwards
Venue: Westminster School, Behind Millennium School, Al Qusais, Dubai.
Language: Any one of Kannada, Tulu, Beary, Konkani, and Kodava.
Entry Fee: Free to all (First come first serve basis)
Dance competition categories
1. Below 15 years (cinematic dance - minimum 5 and maximum 9 participants)
2. Above 15 years (cinematic dance - minimum 5 and maximum 9 participants)
3. Folk dance (minimum 5 and maximum 9 participants without age limit)
4. Professionals group dance (open to all)
Duration: 5 minutes.
Language: Kannada, Konkani, Tulu, Beary and Kodava.
Note: All the contestants with entire group to report at the hall by 2.00 pm to allot the serial numbers of the performance.
Drawing Competition categories:
1. Below 5 years (sheet will be provided for colouring)
2. Between 5 and 8 years (sheet will be provided for colouring)
3. 8 to 15 years: Theme: Tourist spots in Karnataka. A3 size drawing sheet will be provided.
Note: For Drawing Competition all the coloring materials (pencil/crayon/oil pastel/water color/poster) should be brought by the contestant for all 3 categories
Vice President K R Tantry and General Secretary Daya Kirodian have requested to all kannadigas here in UAE to come and witness this Dance competition. The objective of this Dance competition is to bring out the dancing talent of kannadigas here in UAE by bringing them together under one roof and the final winners will get a chance to perform in the “Grand Rajyotsava Program 2012 to be held on November 9 2012.
Winners & Runners up in the dance category will be awarded chilly willy cash prize along with the trophy.
